JOB TITLE:Group and Education Sales Manager

REPORTS TO:Associate Director of Marketing and Communications

SUMMARY

Responsible for group sales for all Dallas Theater Center productions, Student Matinee Series and sales for all Education Programs, including prospecting and development, cultivation and order fulfillment, follow-up and retention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create a strategic sales plan and marketing campaign for group/education sales for each DTC performance, Student Matinee and Education class/club
  • Responsible for entire sales process including: creating powerful sales proposals; managing customer relationships; closing and processing all group/education sales; hitting and surpassing sales goals; and creating follow-up strategy to retain group/education patrons
  • Cultivate and solicit sales via in-bound and out-bound phone calls, direct mail, collateral, email campaigns, presentations and in-person visits
  • Respond to patron questions and inquiries in a timely and respectful manner
  • Strengthen and enhance relationships with corporate groups, affinity groups, concierge services, alumni groups, tourism leaders and group sales leaders
  • Facilitate and serve as point person for group buyouts
  • Provide group sales information and collateral at area convention and visitors bureaus, chambers, libraries, etc
  • Must adhere to proper spending approvals and have sound budget management

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Assertive, self-motivated, innovative personality with high level of initiative
  • Professional image, time-management and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of Tessitura ticketing software system

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 2-4 years sales experience,preferably in the performing arts industry
  • Motivated, assertive personality and comfort level with operational issues required
  • Customer service, deadline and detail orientation necessary
  • Strong community relationships and contact list preferred

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

BA/BBA or related college degree

COMPENSATION

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience and excellent benefits package will be provided. Position includes sales bonus incentives

ABOUT DALLAS THEATER CENTER:One of the leading regional theaters in the country, Dallas Theater Center (DTC) performs to an audience of more than 115,000 North Texas residents annually.
