2. You are tasked with creating a single-day event that allows incoming students the opportunity to engage with upper year students in a fun and informal setting. Provide a high level overview of the event but be concise – you have 250 words or less!
3. A GO train is out of control and speeding down the tracks. There are five railway workers in its path, currently standing on the track, and who are unaware of the danger. You are responsible for signal controls, and can flip a switch to divert the train down an alternate track. For the below questions, please only apply to the questions that correspond with the role or roles for which you are applying.
SPONSORSHIP
5. You’ve exhausted the traditional channels for sponsorship (your network, past sponsors, etc.). Name two creative solutions that you would use to raise the last $1000.
GAME DESIGN
6. Design a challenge in either Hamilton or Toronto that allows students to discover a new part of either city. Why did you choose this location? The event is optional – how will you make the event exciting enough to appeal to students?
FINANCE
7. You are on your final co-op placement with RBC, in a financial planning capacity. One of your key projects for the semester is maintaining and overseeing your department’s budget. Your manager stops by your desk on Friday afternoon and requests $100. Outline the steps that you would take to approach this situation.
MARCOMM
8. During the Embark event, a group of incoming students starts spamming the Twitter or Instagram feed with negative comments about the event’s components. Neither Co-Chair is available to assist you. How do you proceed?
