Stanford Book Club Meeting

Supreme Court Tour

Monday, October 22 11am-2pm

Supreme Court

Visit the Supreme Court, the most powerful and prestigious judicial institution in the world. Attend a lecture in the Courtroom, view an interesting short film of interviews with the current sitting justices, and tour some areas of the building not seen by the general public.

The Tour will begin promptly at 11:00 by the John Marshall statue on the ground floor of the Supreme Court building. More detailed instructions will be provided prior to the tour. Lunch will be on your own at the court’s cafeteria. The tour should be complete by 2pm.

The Cornell Club of Washington will host an evening of exceptional non-partisan company and conversation in the Adlai Stevenson Ballroom of the Woman’s National Democratic Club. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.

The Woman's National Democratic Club is located near Dupont Circle in the Whittemore House, one of Washington's most elegant, historic mansions with ten function rooms and a garden.

Stanford Lecture Series: The Plight of Blue-Fin Tuna

Join us for a reception and a wonderful lecture at Stanford’s newly expanded home in Washington, DC. The Washington, DC Stanford Association invites you to a special evening featuring Stanford Professor Barbara Block, the Charles and Elizabeth Prothro Professor in Marine Sciences in the Department of Biological Sciences. Professor Block will address the plight of the bluefin tuna and how cutting-edge science can ensure the future of this majestic fish. As an added bonus, this engaging evening features Stanford in Washington’s new Sant Building and renovated Bass Center. See below for more information.
