Bracknell Railway Society

This rally is kindly being hosted by the Bracknell Railway Society. Below is some information that may be useful if you are planning to come to the rally.

Please join us even if you are not a member and see what the POG is all about.

Track Information

The Bracknell Railway Society has a permanent raised track, using steel rail, covering 3½" and 5" gauges. The track is 1132 feet long and has a maximum gradient of 1 in 160.

There is 12V available in the steaming bays and car parking is adjacent. Trolleys for visitors are available but if you bring your own trolley please note there is a minimum ground clearance of 11½". A traverser and unloading point are easily accessible.

The Track is situated in Jocks Lane Recreation Ground. This means there are full recreational facilities available along with country walks.

If you are bringing an engine please don't forget your boiler certificate!

Track Location

The track is situated about 33 miles from London in Jocks Lane Recreational Ground, Bracknell, Berks.

For those with Sat Nav the address is Jocks Lane, Off Binfield Road (B3018), RG12 2BH

Please make sure that you enter Jocks Lane from Binfield Road as there is a barrier halfway along Jocks Lane.

FROM M4 JUNCTION 10 from EAST or WEST

Turn onto the A329(M) towards Bracknell.

Take first slip road off to light controlled roundabout and take the first exit (B3408) towards Bracknell.

Straight over first roundabout.

Keep straight over traffic lights.

Next roundabout take second exit onto Temple Way. Follow this to roundabout (junction with B3018).

Turn right.

Next roundabout take second exit.

On exiting, you should see the track through the bushes on your right.

Take next right Jocks Lane.

Take first entrance to park on right and drive to end.

FROM M3 JUNCTION 3, or the A30 from the WEST

Turn north onto the A322 (If on A30, branch off left at The Cricketers. This will put you onto the A322 northbound).

Keep in LH lane as just after the speed derestriction sign the RH lane branches off to Ascot.

Keep going to next roundabout…straight over.

Next roundabout straight on (it’s light controlled but you drive through the middle).

Next roundabout straight on (Bracknell Sports Centre on left).

Next roundabout take second exit (A329).

Over light controlled crossing and past fire station on right.

Next roundabout is a light controlled one and you need to turn right and go under the railway. Once through the bridge take second exit.

Next roundabout straight on.

Next roundabout get in LH lane on approach and go straight across (that’s the last roundabout!!!).

At T junction turn left.

Look out for Moordale Ave on left.

Jocks Lane is next on left, and take the first entrance to the park on right.

Drive right up to the end.

FROM A30 from the EAST

At Wentworth golf course traffic lights turn onto the A329.

Follow this road through Ascot and past racecourse on right. Over next roundabout,

and through two sets of traffic lights.

Next three roundabouts - straight on.

Next roundabout is light controlled. Take third exit (still A329 Millennium Way).

Next roundabout take 4th exit B3018.Binfield Road.

Over traffic lights (look out for Moordale Ave on left).

Jocks Lane is next on left Take first entrance into park, and drive right to end.

Rally Facilities

There will be light refreshments available and there is a local fish and chip shop for those wanting a bit more.
