INFO FOR PL 84-99 COURSE in KANSAS CITY
1. Thank you for registering for the PL 84-99 PROSPECT Course to be held at the USACE Kansas City District, Emergency Operations Center (Room 115), 9-13 May 2016. The Kansas City District is located at the Richard Bolling Federal Building at 601 East 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64106.
2. A block of rooms is being held at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown, located in downtown Kansas City. All USACE personnel are required to stay at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown if rooms are available. A dedicated booking website for this course has been created to make hotel reservations online, at:

Please make your reservations before April 8, 2016.

3. Dress for the class is business casual (no jeans), except on the day of the field trip when field duty clothing with comfortable walking shoes is appropriate.
4. Kansas City International Airport (MCI) is the closest airport, located north of the hotel and downtown area. Transportation options from the airport to the hotel upon arrival are SuperShuttle (web site: http://www.kansas-city-airport-shuttle.com/shuttle-downtown.html), other commercial shuttle services, or taxi. Travel days will be Monday May 9 and Friday, May 13, dependent upon flight schedules. Except for emergencies, the earliest allowable departure flight on May 13 will be 1430 hours. For USACE personnel, no rental cars are authorized. The Kansas City District Office is a short walk from the hotel.


5. Printed textbooks for the course will not be provided. Access to course materials will be available (TBD). An encrypted email with the password info will be sent to everyone.

6. USACE personnel are required to complete the following Distance Learning courses as a prerequisite prior to attending the course: https://rsc.usace.army.mil/training/miscellaneous/PL8499.


7. Labor and Travel Funds.

a. If your labor is normally FCCE-funded, overhead-funded, or funded by Levee Safety or ED&M funds, use your normal funding source to cover your labor.

b. By limited exception only, labor for USACE project-funded personnel or other USACE personnel not addressed in a. above should contact Frank Randon at or 202-761-5909.

c. Information will be sent out separately regarding travel and per diem costs.

d. Travel and labor for non-USACE personnel will be provided by the attendee's agency. There is no charge for the course itself.
