I.  Agenda

NSCLC use case draft for Genetic Variation

CG reviewed the NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer) use case draft prepared by Phil Pochon, which will be added to the PubDB. Phil has taken the NSCLC use case and reshaped it into a structure, that we had used for our storyboards.

Discussion topics :

Amnon – suggested to add the information about sequence transmission. An example of sequence transmission would be to use sequences in clinical decision support algorithms or pass sequences to databases in order to combine them with other data. Also, the analysis method needs to be added (i.e. .whether it is a re-sequencing genetic test).

Since the method is not there, the use cases might all look the same.

Michael – pointed out that we might specify what type of data a molecular lab is reporting and what is it reporting from. We might also specify the issue about data access and the contents of a genetic report.

Publishing issues

CG needs to discuss the Walk-Through section in the ballot site describing the Genetic Variation model. The current implementation guide (IG) contains the walk-through in chapter 5. Amnon – suggested to take the model walk-through from the IG, extend (?) it and add it to the PubDB.

Phil – will convert some more storyboards from the IG and send it to the group for review.

Incorporation of CG models into the V3 LAB results message

CG needs to elaborate the implications of its models when aligning them with LAB. It was decided unanimously that the issue of incorporating CG models into HL7 V3 LAB Results message will be postponed until the next joint meeting with O&O in September. In parallel, CG will continue discussions with LAB. Phil – will contact Joann Larson (who is also a LAB member) for follow-up discussions.

Vancouver HL7 WGM

Dan Anderson – from the HL7 security working group sent out an e-mail to CG to talk about security of genetic data. We can put that as an discussion item for the Wednesday Q3 or Q4 session.

II.  Next conference call
