Overview of the team and role

The Self-Insurance Team manages the licensing function under Part VIII of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRC Act). This includes: monitoring the performance of self-insured licensees; assessing new licence applications, variations or extensions; and monitoring, analysing and reporting on licensee performance to the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (the Commission). In addition, the team has a strong relationship and stakeholder management function.

The Assistant Account Manager provides support to Senior Account Managers and Account Managers in providing high level quality advice to licensees, Comcare’s Executive and the Commission. Assistant Account Managers are required to undertake detailed analysis, monitoring and reporting on licensee performance, which includes producing reports, papers and other information products.The positions also assist the team with the development and maintenance of operational processes and procedures.

Experience

Knowledge, or ability to quickly gain knowledge, of the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 and the self-insurance licence environment would be highly advantageous.

Primary responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain internal and external relationship with stakeholders, providing appropriate advice and support.
  2. Work collaboratively with licensees and stakeholders to meet the requirements of the Commission and the self-insurance licensing cycle.
  3. Provide high level administrative and organisational support, including reporting, event management, and project management.
  4. Undertake research and analysis to prepare and draft briefs or other documentation.
  5. Manage and deliver programmes or projects under limited direction.
  6. Participate in corporate learning and development activities.
  7. Contribute to plans and objectives of the work areas, and contribute to strategic planning.
  8. Represent Comcare effectively at internal and external meetings, conferences or forums.
  9. Contribute innovative solutions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of services.
