81 Students Advance to the Final Round
The University of the West Indies, in collaboration with Sterling Asset Management, has completed the Semifinal Round Examination in the 2011 Jamaican Mathematical Olympiad. A total of 185 students participated in this round, held on April 2, 2011. These students came from 33 different high schools throughout Jamaica. After assessing the Semifinal-Round examination scripts, the Department of Mathematics has determined that 81 students are advancing to the Final Round. These students come from 25 different high schools across Jamaica.
The Final Round consists of two events. The first is a problem-solving workshop to be conducted by the Department of Mathematics. This will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 10 am to 3 pm at the UWI, Mona Campus. The second event is the Final Round Examination. This will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the UWI, Mona Campus. Further details will be announced on this website.
