This EDEWG Change Request can be found on the PUC website at http://www.puc.state.pa.us/electric/electric_edewg_download.aspx

Requester’s Name:
Joe Bisti / EDC/EGS Name:
PECO Energy / Phone #:

Date of Request:
8/5/2010 / Affected EDI Transaction Set #(s):
814 Advance Notice to Drop (AND) / E-Mail Address:

Requested Priority (emergency/high/low): High / Requested Implementation Date:
1st Quarter 2011 (specific date TBD) / Status:
Incorporated into v2.1.1D

Brief Explanation (This will be copied into the description in the Change Control Summary Spreadsheet):

As a result of its recent electric “Purchase Of Receivables” (POR) settlement with various parties, PECO seeks to implement the EDI 814 Advance Notice to Drop (ND) transaction within the first quarter of 2011. This change control represents the necessary modifications to the existing PA 814 ND Implementation Guide (IG) to accommodate PECO’s implementation.

Detail Explanation (Exactly what change is required? To which EDEWG Standards? Why?):

Currently, the only EDC sending the EDI 814 ND is Duquesne. PECO requests the following changes to support its implementation:

·  Page 4, General Notes, “Use” Section – Add PECO to 3rd paragraph.

·  Page 5, Pennsylvania Notes, “Rules” Section – The section should read as follows:

·  Pages 8 and 11, BGN01 segment (Transaction Set Purpose Code) – The current IG requires use of “14” for the notification and “CN” for the optional response. To leverage synergies within PECO’s current systems, PECO requests use of the codes common to all other EDI 814 transactions, specifically “13” for the notification and “11” for the optional response.

·  Pages 9 and 26, DTM01 segment (Estimated Completion) – Duquesne currently defines this date segment as the estimated meter read date of termination of service. PECO requests defining this date segment as the “projected date on which PECO intends to send an EDI 814 drop to the EGS”. Also, please update “PA Use” notes on Page 26 to include PECO. (The second comment in this box will not apply to PECO.)

PECO requests EDEWG approval on the above changes being reflected in the 814 ND IG.
