Assignment: Create a colorful and informative poster on your assigned climate:

First Step: List at least four countries that have your climate here. If possible, list

countries from different continents:

Your poster should include:

1) An eye-catching title!

2) At least 5 photos and/or drawings showing scenes of your climate area (such as vegetation,

wildlife, activities/housing/clothing of people in this climate, etc.) Variety is good! As often as possible, use photos from different countries that have this climate (i.e. for Mediterranean climate, include photos from California, Spain, Italy, etc.)

3) Captions for all drawings or photos describing where or what the illustration is and how it is

related to the climate. As always, please use complete sentences! Be sure to proofread for correct spelling. Your caption should also include the web address where you found it. (See example on “Useful Resources” handout.)

4) Two hand-drawn climagraphsof locationswithinyour climate zone. Remember to

complete the information at the bottom of each climograph page, as well. (Please note: your climographs do not have to be from the same places described in your photo captions. Also, the data charts you created to make your graphs do NOT have to be on your poster.)

5) A World Climate Mapshowing where your climate type is found. Color each region of the

“color by letter” map handout and be sure that your climate region stands out! You may also use the map on page 66 of the classroom textbook as a guide. All maps should be colored neatly, in colored pencil, and use the color coding key indicated at the bottom.

6) Climate summaryand descriptive paragraph: Use the “At A Glance” template provided to

give a brief overview of basic statistics about your climate region. You should also have a paragraph that describes your climate in more detail, including information about temperature, precipitation, vegetation, and parts of the world that have your climate.See example for details.
