COORDINATE CLAUSES

1. To add an idea

* I took her home and I went back at once.

* We visited both London and New York

not only London but also New York

* She is nice as well as sensible.

* I don't like the play, furthermore / moreover / besides / in addition I'm tired.

* She is neither friendly nor co-operative.

2. to contrast

* She has already seen the film but / yet she doesn't like it.

* He is angry, however / nevertheless / nonetheless / all the same I don't think he will tell you.

SUBORDINATE CLAUSES

1. of place

* She went where I was.

* I will go wherever you go.

2. of time

* Bill phoned before / after you called.

* She left the room as I entered.

* I'll tell you once I have done it.

* Don't disturb me while (whilst) I am working.

* I'll wait till / until you help me / Monday.

* I feel good now that everything is over.

* He told it to me as soon as he knew it.
