Children's Hymns

1. He likes us to shine

Let our light so shine,as our Lord Jesus said.

Like this candle of mine, whose light around it's shed.

As He shone with light divine, amidst the crowds He fed.

Come on, get up here and now! With one accord let's pray.

Those who see us will say, "Wow!They shine like Him night and day!"

So Jesus may bless us - and how!In everything we do or say.

2. O Egypt, how blest you are!

Egypt, how blest and happy are you! When your land, Jesus did come through.

When your land, Jesus did come through,He gave you blessings, not a few.

Your idols were terrified, they fell flat, they were horrified.

They fell flat, they were horrified, and the pagan empire thus died.

In you God's altar will always stand, where Christians praise His mighty hand.

Where Christians praise His mighty hand, with holy Liturgies on your land.

Christianity's flags flew overhead, thanks tothe martyrs' blood that was shed. Thanks to the martyrs' blood that was shed, they are our Saviour's beloved.

Monasteries filled the wilderness, that shone with the saints' righteousness,

That shone with the saints' righteousness, they shine like beacons in darkness.

3. O Lord, I am between Your hands

I am between Your hands, O Lord,my heart and spirit Your hands formed.

I love You 'cause Your love for me,has lasted for eternity.

My heart cries out to You and says,"Come and dwell within me always!

"Come O Lord, my loving heart prays,Come and dwell within me always."

My spirit, You, O Lord, sweeten,Care for it, O Lord, from heaven.

My spirit cries for protection.Care for it, O Lord, from heaven.

I am between Your hands, O Lord,my heart and spirit Your hands formed.

I love You, You're the One adored,I love You, O my God and Lord.

4. This is His voice

Refrain:

This is His voice that I can hear,Jesus is calling upon me.

My Salvation's voice rings in my ear,my redeeming Shepherd - it is He.

He knocks on my door and behold, with strange voices I'm preoccupied.

It's the vainglory of this world,it'salso selfishness and pride.

They make me stray far from His fold, and lock my door with Him outside.

When I read my Holy Bible, the world's voices are still disturbing.

His good Word they indeed stifle,His callin my heart they're killing.

Then His words will brighten my soul, throughout its struggle and yearning.

Upon the gentle air I find,His voice whispering in my ears.

In my sorrowful soul and mind,it helps me forget all my fears.

His comfort makes me leave behind, all of my heart's pains and my tears.

Refrain:

This is His voice that I can hear,Jesus is calling upon me.

My Salvation's voice rings in my ear,my redeeming Shepherd - it is He.

5. We're the Shepherd's children

We're the Shepherd's children,the Good Shepherd.

And we saw on the mountain,Jesus our Lord.

Jesus was searching for,the prodigal sheep.

He toiled and brought it after, much work and no sleep.

He carried it gently, with tenderness so rare.

Its tears He wiped lovingly, with compassion and care.

He took it with rejoicing, with the hosts of heav'n.

And the angels were singing,O faithful Christians.

6. How can He forget me?

Even if Mommy forgets me,my Lord's bosom will shelter me.

No one can love me more than He.How can He forget me?

Refrain:

How can He forget me?How can He forget me?

If a mother forgets her baby,My Lord won't forget me.

A child, abandonnedand in pain,in the Lord's good care he'll remain.

My hair - He counted, not in vain; How can He forget me?

Refrain:

How can He forget me?How can He forget me?

If a mother forgets her baby,My Lord won't forget me.

A bird falling from the heights,is out of everyone's sight.

But Christ is watchful day and night. How can He forget me?

Refrain:

How can He forget me?How can He forget me?

If a mother forgets her baby,My Lord won't forget me.

The thorns He endured for me.He cares for the birds I see.

But they're not dearer than me,How can He forget me?

Refrain:

How can He forget me?How can He forget me?

If a mother forgets her baby,My Lord won't forget me.

7.God is our Power

God is our solid refuge and power,

in hardships our able help and strong supporter.

Therefore we'll not worry and our hearts won't fear;

the Lord is on our side, let's be of good cheer!

If mountains quake and the earth's foundations are shaken;

we'll trust the Lord - His creation He's never forsaken.

The Lord is amidst His people, and His Church's helper;

His bountiful and precious blessings gladden her.

Great, exalted and glorified is our God forever,

He's always with us, our solid refuge and shelter.
