Two shall be in the Field, one shall be taken and the other left behind.

This Blog is about the verses found in Matthew 24:40-41

Below are the verses.

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be ( taken), and the other left.

Mat 24:41 Twowomen shall begrinding at the mill; the one shall be ( taken), and the other left.

There is two ways that these verses can be looked at:

1.  The people being taken away are the people on earth that are killed when Jesus returns, we know that not all people are killed when Jesus returns, only those that have the mark of the Beast and worship his image and the Beast.

2.  The people being taken is referring to the Believers in Jesus Christ who are taken to Safety prior to Jesus trampling the Wine press of the Wrath of God.

I am looking at the verses from choice 2 in this Blog and focusing on the Believers as being the ones taken to Safety prior to Judgement. The reason being that Noah and Lot were delivered to Safety prior to Judgement.

To understand the above verses and identify who is taken and who is left, we must look at the other verses that Jesus spoke.

We will LOOK at the sequence, the Taking is the First thing to happen, not all are taken, the others are left behind.

Before I get into the heart of this Blog, we must see the Context of the Verses and to do this we must look at the verses beforehand and after.

One Group is taken, the other is left behind.

Jesus is coming.

We will begin this Journey of Truth in verse 29.

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Mat 24:30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

The following is True.

·  There is going to be a Day that will come after the signs are seen in the Sky after the Tribulation Period has ended. On that Day Jesus will be Coming in the Clouds.

·  There will be a people on the earth that are mourning.

Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

·  On that Day when Jesus Comes there will be a Trumpet sound and he will gather us to himself.

When Jesus Comes He Will Gather Us To Himself, We Will Leave This Earth and Meet Him in the Air.

One of the main purposes of Jesus coming is to gather us believers to himself.

Us Believers are taken to meet Him.

The others are left behind.

Mat 24:32 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summerisnigh:

Mat 24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, evenat the doors.

Mat 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

·  Just as we see physical signs on the earth just before Summer comes, so we will also see physical signs on the earth before that DAY that Jesus comes.

Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth noman,no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

·  We know what signs will appear on earth before Jesus comes but of that exact Day and Hour of his coming we don’t know.

All of the above is about what will happen before and also at the Coming of Jesus Christ.

Now we get to see what that Day will be like, the Day that Jesus will come and gather us to himself and the same Day when people on the earth will mourn.

The Days of the Coming of Jesus are as the Days of Noah.

Mat 24:37 But as the days of Noewere,so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

Mat 24:39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

It is very CLEAR, Noah and his family were taken into Safety FIRST.

I will put it to you this way, the people on earth had no idea what was about to happen until they saw Noah enter the Ark and Sail Away. Then the people realised that Judgement was coming.

The others were left behind and were killed.

In verse 39 where it says "took them all Away" the Greek work for took is really interesting, it is as follows:

1) to raise up, elevate, lift up
1a) to raise from the ground, take up: stones
1b) to raise upwards, elevate, lift up: the hand
1c) to draw up: a fish
2) to take upon one’s self and carry what has been raised up, to bear
3) to bear away what has been raised, carry off
3a) to move from its place
3b) to take off or away what is attached to anything
3c) to remove
3d) to carry off, carry away with one
3e) to appropriate what is taken
3f) to take away from another what is his or what is committed to him, to take by force
3g) to take and apply to any use
3h) to take from among the living, either by a natural death, or by violence

As you can see it can apply to Noah being lifted up as a stone is lifted or for God to carry what was raised up as Noah was in the Ark.

It also means to Lift up Anchor and Sail away, this is exactly what Noah and his family did in the Ark.

Noah had to be Obedient and Build the Ark, and Noah had to be Obedient and enter the Ark.

Noah and His family were the FIRST to be moved, they were taken from the earth into the Ark.

All that were left behind were destroyed.

We begin to see the sequence in action, the First to be taken are the ones in deliverance, the ones Left behind received the Judgement.

If Noah had not entered the Ark he would have been killed.

Let me summarise the above verses.

·  The Days of Noah are the same as the Day of the Coming of Jesus

·  People were eating and drinking and marrying and giving in marriage UNTIL Noah entered the Ark

·  Noah and his family were taken in Safety First.

·  The people that were NOT in the Ark and were on the earth had no idea of the Judgement until the Flood came and destroyed them all.

There is Two Great Truths in the above.

1.  God removed Noah and his family from the Earth First by means of the Ark (Salvation)

2.  The People that remained on the Earth were the people that received the Judgement.

It is True, Salvation and Deliverance First and then Judgement on those that remain on the earth.

·  If Noah had not entered the Ark he would have not been saved.

·  If Noah had stayed on the earth he would have received Judgement.

·  All that stayed on the earth received Judgement.

·  The Ark did not stay on the earth, it was actually lifted up above the waters.

·  The earth was being judged while the Ark remained above the waters.

·  It was not until the Judgement was completed and the waters drained away that the Ark resettled on the earth and Noah and his family walked upon the earth.

Noah left the earth and entered the Ark before the Judgement.

The Picture of Noah reveals the whole earth being Judged.

Noah and his family were taken from the earth into the Ark of God.

All that were left behind on the earth were killed.

Noah and his family were in the Ark of God seated above the Judgement waters of God.

We are beginning to see what Jesus is saying.

The First Event. Those taken are given Deliverance.

The Second Event. Those not taken and are left behind are given Judgement.

This same Context and sequence is also confirmed by Jesus in the Book of Luke where Jesus was talking.

Now lets look at Luke 17:27-28.

Luk 17:27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Jesus also tells us to look at Lot and again we see the same sequence.

Lot left Sodom and went to a Safe Place before the Judgement.

Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyedthemall.

It says that Lot went out.

Those left behind in Sodom were destroyed.

It is the exact same Context and sequence as we saw with Noah.

·  Noah leaves the earth and steps up and enters the Ark

·  Those that remain on the earth were destroyed

·  Lot leaves Sodom

·  Those that remained in Sodom were destroyed.

In the story of Noah all that remained on the earth were killed.

In the story of Lot all that remained in the City of Sodom were killed.

Yes Deliverance comes to those that are First Taken, Judgement comes to those that are Left Behind.

Are you beginning to see the picture of Salvation.

We are not appointed to Wrath but to OBTAIN Salvation.

Jesus is going to Deliver us from the Earth before He Judges.

It is True, Jesus will come, He will lift us up from this earth to gather us to himself, then those that remain on the earth are mourning and they will be judged.

Jesus will lift us up off of this earth, he will then bring Judgement to the earth, and all that remain on the earth will receive whatever Judgement Jesus administers. Once the Judgement is completed we will descend to the earth from the air and place our feet on the earth with Jesus. We will then begin the 1000 year reign on the earth over the Nations of people that were not destroyed.

Jesus will Receive us to Himself.

Now that we know the context and we know the sequence let us begin looking at the following verses.

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be ( taken), and the other left.

Mat 24:41 Twowomen shall begrinding at the mill; the one shall be ( taken), and the other left.

If we use the context and sequence that we have already noticed in the preceding verses regarding Noah and Lot, we can safely say that the ones being taken first are the ones being delivered as Noah and Lot were, this means the ones that remain are the ones to receive Judgement as did those on the earth and those in Sodom.

It is all about being ready to be taken to meet Jesus in the Air before He brings Judgement to those that remain on the earth.

Jesus will be appearing at the Battle of Armageddon when He comes, deliverance will come First then He will destroy the Armies of the Beast etc.

It is Extremely Critical that before I continue with this Blog we MUST first of all look at the Greek Word that is used in the New Testament for taken.

It DOES NOT MEAN DESTROYED.

The Greek Word is “paralambano” it is number G3880 in the Strongs Concordance.

Paralambano means “To Receive”, “to Take Near to Oneself”, “To Receive to Oneself”, “To Take into Ones Possession”, “To Take One as an Associate or Companion”.

It can be used in a good motive and also a poor motive.

The word Paralambano “Does NOT Mean to Destroy”. It means to take possession of.

It is a word that means relationship, bringing to oneself, seizing to oneself, and taking possession of.

Here is an example of a positive motive in the New Testament where that Greek Word is used.

Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to(take unto thee)Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

Joseph was Receiving to himself Mary to be his Wife.

Joseph did not destroy Mary, He actually Received Mary to himself to be his “Companion, His Associate, His Wife”.

Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and (took unto him) his wife:

Joseph was doing a good thing in taking Mary as his Wife.

Let me now place the proper meaning of the word Paralambano into the two Verses in Matthew 24.

Mat 24:40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be “Received to ones self as an associate, as a Companion”, and the other left.

Mat 24:41 Twowomen shall begrinding at the mill; the one shall be “Received to oneself as an Associate, as a Companion”, and the other left.

If we use the context and sequence that we have already established so far, we begin to see that there is something very special being done in the “taking”, it is a very special bringing together.

God is going to receive us to himself off of the physical dust of the earth, and those that remain on the earth receive the Judgement of Jesus.

Jesus is coming to receive to Himself His Bride.

The Greek word “Paralambano” is used 50 Times in the New Testament

I have already shown you a few out of the 50, in all the verses they mean to bring to ones side, to come together, to seize to oneself. There are good motives and not so good motives.

Here are some other good motive verses where the word Paralambano is used.

Mat 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and(take) the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him

Mat 17:1 And after six days Jesus (taketh)Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,
