NEW BUSINESS
· Guest Mary Kessler of 2013 Redleaf inquires about pest in neighborhood, specifically skunks and possums. Chip suggests she call Metro at 311. Mike adds she can call Critter Ridder, for a charge they will trap the pests.
· Chip asks if a replacement is needed for Stan due to extended absence; Mike replies no, because most attorneys do not charge the flat rate but rather bill hourly. The annexation of land across Westport Road has been tabled. Mary Kessler suggests contacting the Metro Planning Commission.
· Chip asks about 2009 Japonica where they took out a healthy tree, now an 8 foot stump remains in yard. Mike replies that Stan will address with homeowners, and Stan is also working with homeowners on Cedarcrest where a large stump remains in yard.
· Mike has contacted owner of 2013 Japonica regarding a large tree in front yard that is split down the middle, posing a danger as the tree may fall. The owner was not open to removing tree, and Mike will consult with Stan for further action.
· Heather discusses Kentucky League of Commissioners (KLC) and training they provide. Chip adds that he attended and found it informative; Mike also attended, says the 3-hour training is good but the longer session contains information that does not pertain to the City of Briarwood.
· As of January 1, 2015, all cities are 1st or 2nd class, and Louisville is Kentucky’s only 1st class city.
· Heather reports she has walked at night, and suggests a light is needed on Staghorn between Redleaf and Cedarcrest. Chip adds lights are needed close to Westport Road at both entrances.
· Thanks and well-wishes to Danna Hess, who retires this month.
