Scholarship Guidelines

  1. The scholarship recipient, each year, will be determined by a three member committee, of which a Knights of Columbus Council 1510 officer will be a member.
  2. First consideration will be to a student/child of a Knights of Columbus Council 1510 member. Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of:

50% financial need, scholarship, good moral and right conduct, and 50% participation in parish activities.

  1. The amount of the scholarship will be $1,000.00; one-half payable at the time of enrollment for each semester. The scholarship is not automatically renewable, but a recipient may annually re-apply for the scholarship.
  2. The applicant must be a graduate of a high school located in Norton Country and may be used for any level of vocational technical school or college education. The recipient must also be a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
  3. Application deadline is April 15. A standard application form will be available at the office of the School Counselor.
  4. A high school transcript must be submitted with the application, or a college transcript, if in college.
  5. The application must be signed by both the applicant and parent or guardian. Three reference names shall also be listed and each reference shall write a letter of recommendation to be submitted with the application.
  6. The application and letters of recommendation letters are to be returned to:

  1. The recipient of the scholarship will be announced by May 1.
