- Events
- Alison Eidinger will take on Bingo, Sara Cupp will take over Spelling Bee
- Scholarship basket (Moriah Oster)
- Gift Card Galore!
- Had a lot of traffic after the staff photo was posted, we will continue posting pictures of events, results of PTSA money being spent around the school
- Post before/after classroom pics
- We will start creating “events” for PTSA sponsored events on FB.
- Calendar Changes:
- Oct 13th 8:45 General Membership
- November 9thBOD meeting changed to Nov 16th
- Jan 19th8:45 General Membership
- May 18th8:45 General Membership
- June 24thBOD meeting changed to 14th
- Principals and presidents meeting for PTSA
- Put together a “best practice” for grants that are helpful to keep in mind
- Goal to work collaboratively with principal and school needs
- Guidance on transportation/field trips
- Suggested we don’t grant money for transportation because of liability
Treasurer Report:Allison Eidinger
- New teachers (within first 2 years of teaching, receives $200/yr)
- Total of 11.5 teachers in this category – we will need to add $700 to our line item for new teacher funds
- Molly Hylen moves that “…we reallocate $700 from 2016/17 carryover to ‘new teacher funds’ line item” Leta Hamilton seconds the motion
- Motion passes
- Audit report will be ready for our Oct meeting.
- Plan to budget money for dinner prior to curriculum night every year
Committee Reports:
- Round Up
- Band will get things started

- Walk a Thon 12:30-1:30 Oct 6th
- Lots of kids have registered, and some donations have already come in, envelopes will go home soon
- Most raffle items have been collected
- Need more adult auction items – otherwise we will stick with just a raffle
- Spirit week
- Color/sidewalk chalk day (K – red, 1 – Orange, 2 – yellow, 3 – Blue, 4 – Green, 5 – purple)

- Popcorn incentives for classes who make certain amounts, or all school free popcorn if we reach $50k
- Overall things are coming along well and looking good

- Will set up table at Ice Cream Social
- Leta will continue to push at the upcoming events for members
- Enrichment
- Oct 2 starts new enrichment series
- We have a collection of enrichment classes we’ll be offering – people have to print the form and bring it into the YMCA to register, YMCA website isn’t working well.
- FACE
- Making a bulletin board for countries people are from
- We will take down feature of “language spoken” off the registration because it’s becoming an issue. We will put in a request for a feature change to make it possible for next year.

- LWPTSA putting on a course for parents new to the district and help people new to the country – dates to follow
- Incoming Kinder families have much more diversity and many more families that are non-native speakers
- We would like to work on a plan to create a ‘new to the country’ and ‘new to the district’ night to help new families understand the school, PTSA, district goals etc
- We have kids at this school speaking 31 different languages.
- Love and Logic class will start Oct 2nd (6 classes long)
- We need to fill out a LWSD form in order to put meetings etc on the calendar (Shelly will do this)
