All reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance. Any reservations for a date that has a District or Council event must first be approved by the event chairman. All fees below are on the basis of day /weekend rates.
ALL FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. FEES ARE TRANSFERABLE ONE TIME WITHIN A 90 DAY PERIOD. Please refer to attached rate sheet for appropriate charges.
ALL NON-BSA GROUPS MUST SIGN A “HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT” and provide proof of liability insurance in excess of $1,000,000 and naming the Muskingum Valley Council as the insured.

MUSKINGUM VALLEY SCOUT RESERVATION
CAMP USE RULES
IN CONSIDERATION OF GRANTING THIS PERMIT______AGREES TO FOLLOW THESE RULES:
- No Smoking is permitted in any camp facilities. Designated areas for smoking are available.
- Check in at the Ranger’s home when you arrive and when you are leaving.
- Vehicles must stay in the parking area, not in the campsites. No riders in the bed of trucks or on trailers.
- Alcohol, fireworks and firearms are not tolerated while on the Muskingum Valley Scout Reservation. Violation of this will mean immediate dismissal from the property. There will be no refund.
- Trash should be bagged and put into the dumpsters or taken with you when you leave.
- All fires must be attended at all times.
- Standing timber will not be cut, unless permission is obtained from the Ranger. Firewood is available in designated areas. Unburned firewood must be returned to the designated area prior to departure.
- There must be at least two (2) adults present at all times. This is a BSA requirement. Groups not following this rule will be asked to leave the Reservation.
- There is no swimming or boating in the lake. You may fish on the shoreline, but we have a catch and release requirement.
- All major appliances within the kitchen are not available to be used and not available for rental use. Examples —walk in cooler/freezer, tilt skillet and dishwasher.
- Please leave all wild animals alone. Mistreating wild animals will not be tolerated.

We understand the above rules and agree to follow them. Any abuse of these rules may result in loss of privileges at the Reservation, and/or a loss for future use of this facility.

BSA units that participate in the Muskingum Valley Council Friends of Scouting Campaign– NO CHARGE
**Campsites available for camping August through May are: Hopewell, Zane, Friendship, Delaware, Eagle, Walnut and Locust. These sites may be closed due to summer weather/usage. The availability of Fredrickson, White Eyes, Buckeye and Appleseed in the winter months is dependent on the weather.
*** For Dining Hall and Kitchen use in the months of NOVEMBER –MARCH: Add $25.00 per day to provide for utilities.Please Note: Some major appliances within the kitchen are NOT available for rental use. Examples—walk-in cooler/freezer, tilt skillet and dishwasher.

NOTICES
Arrangements for rental must be made in advance. Set up, tear down, and clean up will not be the responsibility of Muskingum Valley Council. The group using the equipment bears the responsibility for this.
Muskingum Valley Council reserves the right to move/change your reservation with 2 weeks notice given circumstances regarding Facilities/Grounds/Equipment conditions or Council Activities.
Special Program Information and Fees

TOWER: *Must comply with National Climbing/COPE Standards - certain conditions apply.
Open Climbing and Rappelling: $10.00 per person. $50.00 minimum. 4 Hours of climbing and rappelling supervised by a qualified Climbing Director. Available for ages 12 and up.
Climbing Merit Badge: $15.00 per person. $100.00 minimum. Spend the day earning your Climbing Merit Badge. Assuming your Scouts are physically able to make three complete climbs up the Tower, they can earn the merit badge in one day.
Bouldering: $5.00 per person. $50.00 minimum. Perfect activity for Cub Scouts from Tiger thru WEBELOS.
GeoCaching Course:$5.00 per person. 15-30 minutes of instruction on the use of the GPS Unit. (Provided) Then send your Scouts on a Treasure Hunt through camp locating geocach treasures using the GPS.
RANGER RON’S NATURE PIE PATCH PROGRAM:Cost is $3.00 per person, includes patch.
Gold Panning: You will learn how to pan, use a High Banker, and use a 2” dredge. You will also learn how and where to look for gold. You will need to bring clothes, boots or shoes that you can get wet.
Archaeology: You will learn the proper procedures on excavation. You will then go to two different sites and use these techniques. You will also learn how to display items that are found. You will need to bring clothes that can get dirty.
Tree & Compass (Which Tree Am I): You will learn how to use a compass and also how to identify trees. There will be up to 20 trees during this hike.
Edible Plants: You will learn up to 36 plants on MVSR that you can eat, drink, and cook with. This will show you where they are found and how to identify them.
Geology: You will have fun looking at the rocks that have been collected. Learn how to identify and study them. You will also learn how to start your own rock collection.
Nature Trail: During the trail we will be talking about trees and plants and why they are important to both wildlife and humans.
SHOOTING SPORTS**: Ranges are available foropen shooting forCub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers, provided that certified Range Directors are available. Contact the Council Service Center for details (740-453-0571). **Must comply with National Shooting Sports Standards - certain conditions apply.
