WELCOME TO WORSHIP

We are always happy to have visitors with us in Cregagh; and we welcome any who may be worshipping with us today We would invite our visitors to sign the Visitor’s Book in the Vestibule, giving full name and postal address.

We would specially welcome the Rev.Paul Dalzell (Minister of Hydepark and Lylehill Presbyterian Church) this morning; and Rev.Dr.Jim Campbell (Minister Emeritus of Cooke Centenary Presbyterian Church) this evening.

The following may help our visitors to share in the service:

** MORNING SERVICE – please stand when the Bible, Choir and Minister enter.

The Offering is after the Sermon and is not announced.

Please stand as the collectors bring the Offering to the Sanctuary for dedication, and remain standing until after the Recessional hymn and the Bible is carried from church.

** EVENING SERVICE – please stand when the Bible, Choir, Minister and Elders enter.

The Offering and Communion Tokens are collected after the Sermon.

At the end of the Communion Service please remain standing until after the Recessional hymn as the Elders remove the Elements, the Choir and Minister leave and the Bible is carried from church.

COMMUNION OFFERING

The ‘loose offering’ at Communion is in aid of the Benevolent Fund.

SUMMER COFFEE BAR

The Summer Coffee Bar is open in the Allen Hall after this morning’s service and will be each Sunday in June, July and August – all are invited to come in for a chat and a cuppa.

Volunteers are needed to staff the coffee bar each week, so if you can help out on one of the Sunday mornings, please put your name on the rota list in the Vestibule.

SERVICE OF LICENSING

The Service of Licensing for Fiona Forbes takes place this evening at 7.00 p.m. in Ballyholme Presbyterian Church by a Commission of the Ards Presbytery. An invitation has been received for any member of Cregagh who may wish to attend.

MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION

A Meeting of the Congregation will be held on Monday at 8.00 p.m. in the church.

The purpose of the Meeting is to consider issuing a Call to the Rev.Paul Dalzell to become Minister of Cregagh. No other business may be discussed at this Meeting.

All members of the congregation may attend the meeting but only communicant members may

vote. This meeting has also been announced to the congregation on Sundays 10th and 17th June

MORNING WATCH

The Morning Watch will meet on Tuesday at 10.45 a.m. in the Session Room.

OFFICE HOURS

The Session Clerk will be in the Minister’s Room on Thursday from 7.30 – 8.30 p.m.

OPEN CHURCH

The church will be open, as usual, on Friday from 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. for private prayer and meditation.

THE BROWNIES

We are delighted that our Brownies have been invited, through Girlguiding Ulster, to attend the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebration at Stormont on Wednesday. We do hope that they

have a lovely day and enjoy their royal experience.

The July Car Boot Sale will be held on Saturday week, 7th July from 9.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

BLOOD DONATIONS

The Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service will be in the Allen Hall for blood donations

on Friday 13th July from 2.00 – 4.00 p.m. and 5.15 – 8.00 p.m.

SPORTS ACADEMY HOLIDAY BIBLE CLUB

This year’s Summer Holiday Bible Club will have a sporting Olympic theme and will run

from Monday 13th – Friday 17th August with our special HBC Family Service and Picnic on

Sunday 19th August. It is open to all children aged 4 – 11 years and registration forms are

now available in the Vestibule if you would like your child to come along. Forms will be

given out to local schools as well, so make sure you book your place soon.

SCHOOLS OUT FOR SUMMER!

“Teachers and students please check your classrooms for any teaching aids/books or stationery

that is being disposed of at the end of the school year and retrieve them for schools in

SUMMER NEWS-SHEETS

Only two News-Sheets will be produced over the summer – one for July (available next

Sunday) and one for August (available Sunday 5th) Items for inclusion should be

submitted not later than 7.00 p.m. on Wednesday 27th June (July) and Wednesday 1st August

(August) – Normal weekly publication resumes on Sunday 2nd September.

AUTUMN ‘CHURCH NEWS’

The Autumn issue of ‘Church News’ will be distributed by the elders from Sunday 23rd

September. Any items/pictures etc.for inclusion should be submitted to David Gillespie or

Dennison Mahood not later than Sunday 26th August

OPEN CHURCH - Two required each Friday from 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.

CAR BOOT SALES - Two or three for stewarding, serving and clearing up.

KIDZONE - Leaders required for Sunday mornings in July and August.

IN REMEMBRANCE

The congregation was saddened to learn of the death on Monday of Mr. Bob Montgomery of

32 Rochester Road. Bob was a life-long member of this congregation and served it well for

very many years having been ordained to the Eldership in 1970 and then becoming Session

Clerk in 1984, a position he held with great diligence for almost eleven years.

His wife, Mildred, also an elder, predeceased him in August 2009.

The Kirk Session, Congregational Committee and Congregation extend heartfelt sympathy to

his sons, Colin and Mervyn, daughter-in-law, Vanessa and sister Dorothy at this difficult time.
