Material Release Help

Material Releases are created by Whirlpool from our manufacturing system to provide information on release of parts against an established blanket purchase order. Included are release quantities and dates, as well as information related to accumulated quantities shipped, ASN in-transit data, and consignment balances held by Whirlpool. Releases are generated for firm, tentative, and planning periods.

The table below lists elements contained in each release and a description of each element.

Element / Description /
End Date / The last day where parts requirements end.
Gen Date / The date the release was generated.
Notes: Firm Date / The firm release period within which parts are committed for supplier fabrication.
Notes: Planning Date / The planning release period is for information only. there is no commitment to the supplier.
Notes: Tentative Date / The tentative release period within which parts are committed for supplier raw materials.
P.O. Number / The purchase order number of the part being released.
Part Desc / The description of the Whirlpool part number.
Part No / The Whirlpool part number to be supplied to Whirlpool.

Consign Net = YES" would indicate that shipments received in a consignment warehouse, but not yet received into Whirlpool's inventory for this part have already been "netted" , therefore you should ship to the release requirements. Conversely, if this record had indicated "NO", your requirements for this part have not been "netted" , therefore you should ship to the release requirements less the consignment amount already shipped.

"ASN Net = NO" would indicate that although an ASN (Electronic Ship Notice) has been transmitted, but if this shipment has not yet been received by the Whirlpool division, your requirements for this part have not been "netted" , therefore you should ship to the release requirements less the ASN in-transit amount. Conversely, if this record had indicated "YES", requirements for this part have already been "netted", therefore you would ship to the release requirements.

Time Periods : When does Whirlpool send EDI releases to suppliers?
Suppliers receive releases from Whirlpool in several ways:

·  Releases can be either a full 26 week release showing firm, tentative and planning data or a "ten-day" release showing firm data for the next 10 days.

·  All suppliers receive a full 26 week release on Saturday for all active parts

·  Some suppliers receive the full 26 week also on Tuesday to Friday.

·  Other suppliers receive the 10-day release on Tuesday to Friday and the 26 week release on Saturday

·  The 10-day release is sent to suppliers at 6am Tuesday to Friday. The 26-week release is sent at the completion of WMCS processing (usually after 8am).
