CELEBRATION AND COMMEMORATION PROGRAMME

TERMS & CONDITIONS

TREES

  • The trees we plant are selected, native trees of a standard size (approx 1.8m)
  • Where possible, we will give consideration to the type of tree and planting location requested by the donor, but the final planting location, species and the type of staking/support will be determined the Trust.
  • Trees cannot be provided by the donor; the Trust will select and purchase the trees from a local, reputable supplier.
  • Sometimes it will be possible for a donor to arrange to attend a tree-planting, but this is a decision for the Trust and not all requests to do this can be met.
  • Trees are guaranteed for 1 year, with the exception of vandalism; any tree which fails within the first year from the date of planting will be replaced at the expense of the Trust.
  • We reserve the right to remove and discard any tree which is damaged, unsightly or dangerous to the public.
  • The charge made for our trees covers all costs involved and includes a donation to the Trust. The prices are fixed and the level of donation cannot be varied.
  • No plaques or signs, other than one ordered from the Trust, can be attached to the trees and no memorial stones or floral tributes should be laid around the bottom of the tree.
  • Full payment is required at the time of ordering the tree. Planting will take place within 4 weeks of payment although this may be extended in the event of poor weather.
  • Donors will be provided with a certificate of dedication and a map showing the location of the tree.

BENCHES

  • Our benches are made from natural wood so please expect irregularities; minor splitting may occur but this does not affect the integrity of the bench; silvering will occur over time.
  • Where possible, we will give consideration to the location requested by the donor, but the final location of the bench installation will be determined the Trust.
  • Benches are guaranteed for 8 years, with the exception of vandalism. Please be aware that as benches are located outdoors, they will be subject to weather and wear. We will replace benches where there are defects in materials or manufacture; we are not obliged to replace any item which is vandalised.
  • The laser-cut dedication can comprise of names, dates and an image of a bird, animal, plant or insect native to Fife. Any other words can be suggested but the final decision as to appropriate wording rests with the Trust.
  • Benches cannot be provided by the donor; our benches have been chosen with care for their aesthetics and suitability for the countryside and coastal locations.
  • The charge made for our benches covers all costs involved and includes a donation to the Trust. The prices are fixed and the level of donation cannot be varied.
  • No plaques or signs should be attached to the benches and no floral tributes or memorial stones should be attached to or laid beside or under the benches. Our countryside and coastal sites are natural environments and as we wish to enhance these, we consider such additions to be inappropriate.
  • Full payment is required at the time of ordering the bench. Installation will take place within 8 weeks of payment although this may be extended in the event of poor weather.
  • Donors will be provided with a certificate of dedication and a map showing the location of the bench.
