Business Scorecard Manager – CRM Analyzer

These samples will get you up and running with Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005 utilizing the sample OLAP database provided from CRM 3.0 Analyzer. The purpose of the CRM Analzyer database is to provide a sample OLAP database for exploring the possibilities of OLAP utilizing Microsoft Dynamics™ CRM. We have provided 3 samples scorecards to get you up and running quickly utilizing Analysis Services 2005 and Business Scorecard Manager.

The samples cover many of the measures and dimensions found within the AdventureWorks DW sample provided with SQL Server™ 2005. The perspectives include:

· Opportunities with Revenue

· Opportunity by Product

· Lead Counts

Prerequisites

Please visit the Business Scorecard Manager (http://microsoft.com/office/bsm) for installation prerequisites and installation instructions.

SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services with the CRM Analyzer 4.0 sample OLAP Database. You can find the sample CRM Analyzer download at http://www.microsoft.com/dynamics/crm.

Setup

Analysis Services Server:

All the Scorecard samples use a data source that points to LOCALHOST. If your OLAP database samples are located on another machine, you will need to edit the data source to point to your Analysis Services server.

Note: If you are using another server for your OLAP database, open the BSM Workspace in your favorite editor and do a Search and Replace on the keyword “Localhost” with your server name.

Unzip Samples:

1. Unzip the samples to your computer. A good place to install them is with the other samples provided with Business Scorecard Manager. You can extract the files to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office Business Scorecard Manager 2005\Builder\Samples\CRM.

Restore Sample OLAP Database File:

1. Start SQL Server Management Studio

2. Connect to your Analysis Services Server.

3. Right-click the OLAP database icon and select Restore.

4. Click the Browse button and browse to the Samples\CRM folder and select the CRM Analyzer 4.0.abf backup file and click OK.

5. Click OK to Restore the backup OLAP database.

Loading Scorecard Samples Files:

6. Start Business Scorecard Manager

7. Click the FOLDER icon More… to open a sample project file.

8. Browse to the location where you stored the sample scorecard workspaces and double-click a sample file.

Publishing Scorecards:

Load the scorecards into Business Scorecard Manager and use the following steps to quickly publish the sample scorecards.

1. Load a sample Adventure Works DW scorecard sample workspace.

2. Click the PUBLISH ALL button located on the Business Scorecard Manager toolbar.

3. Click on the menu item Tools/Deploy Scorecard/To SharePoint.

4. Click the Specify Scorecard on Server Button.

5. Browse to Samples/CRM/[scorecard name] and click OK and then click Next button.

6. Select the Default View and click Next button.

7. Enter a page name for the SharePoint page that will be published and click the Next button.

8. Enter the SharePoint URL. (i.e. http://[servername])

9. Use the default Document Library and click the Finish button.
