REGION 11 (HAWAII) 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNNING COMMITTEE, HAWAII STATE INTEROPERABILITY EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, AND 800MHz NPSPAC REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS RESCHEDULED

The Region 11 (Hawaii) Public Safety Regional Planning Committees will hold three consecutive planning meetings Tuesday, September 11, 2007, rescheduled from August 14, 2007 due to Hurricane Flossie.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will convene at the State Video Conference Center in the Keoni Ana Building, Room 302, 1177 Alakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. The 700 MHz meeting will be followed by the Hawaii State Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) meeting, followed by the Region 11 NPSPAC Public Safety 800 MHz Regional Planning Committee.

The agenda for the 800 MHz NPSPAC meeting includes:

§  Acceptance of last meeting minutes

§  Discussion of NPSTC accepted interoperability channel naming standard

§  Maui Status of 800 MHz rebanding

§  Kauai Status of 800 MHz rebanding

§  Honolulu Status of 800 MHz rebanding

§  New business

To facilitate neighboring county participation, the meetings will be broadcast to the State-owned Video Conference Centers (VCCs), which will be available on each meeting day until 12:00 noon at the following locations:

Hawaii: Hilo State Office Building, Basement, 75 Aupuni Street, Hilo

Maui: Wailuku Judiciary Building, First Floor, 2145 Main Street, Wailuku

Oahu: Kalanimoku Building, Room B-10, 1151 Punchbowl Street, Honolulu

Kauai: Lihue State Office Building, Basement, 3060 Eiwa Street, Lihue

The Region 11 Public Safety Regional Planning Committee and the Hawaii SIEC meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 11 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that public safety agencies in all areas of government, including state, municipality, county, and Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s rules, be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate, and represent their agency’s needs.

All interested parties wishing to participate in planning for the use of public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands within Region 11 should plan to attend. For further information, please contact:
