Installing Your UDC/Citizen Brand Receipt Printer

1)  Create a new folder on your C: drive and rename it “Citizen Drivers”.

2)  Go to www.udcpay.com and click on the “UDC Downloads” link.

3)  On the downloads page click on the printer driver link, “Win367.exe”.

4)  On the file download window click “Save”.

5)  In the Save As window locate and open the Citizen Drivers folder on the C: drive and click Save.

6)  The file will now download, when it is completed click on the Close button.

7)  Locate and open the Citizen driver’s folder on your C: drive and double-click on the Win367.exe file, which will expand the file with the driver’s folders. Once this is complete close all the windows on your desktop.

Instructions For Parallel Printers (those with large connectors)

1)  Make sure your printer is connected to your computer and powered on. Restart your computer. If your printer is not connected, turn off the printer before connecting.

2)  Once your computer has restarted watch for the Found New Hardware Wizard and follow these instructions (if you do not see the Found New Hardware Wizard skip to step # 3 below):

a)  In the first window, it will ask you if Windows can connect to the internet to find new software, click on “No, not this time” and click Next.

b)  In the next window click on “Install from a list or specific location” and click Next.

c)  Uncheck the box that says, “Search removable media” and check the box that says, “Include this location in the search”.

d)  Click Browse and in the Browse For Folder window locate and open the Citizen Drivers folder. Then click on your operating system (most likely Win_XP). Click OK and then Next.

e)  In the “select the best match for your hardware” window select “CBM1000 Partial Cut” and click Next.

f)  The drivers will now install. When the Hardware Installation window appears click “Continue Anyway”. When this is complete click Finish. Your printer driver is now installed; please see the section titled “Setting The Specifications For Your UDC/Citizen Printer”.

3)  Open the Windows Control Panel and open the Printers and Faxes window. In the left hand Printer Tasks pane, click on “Add a Printer”. In the first Welcome window click Next.

4)  In the Local or Network Printer window click on “Local printer attached to this computer” and uncheck the box that says, “Automatically detect and install my plug and play printer”. Click Next.

5)  In the Select a Printer Port window make sure “use the following port” is selected and “LPT1: (Recommended Printer Port)” is selected in the drop down window. Click Next.

6)  In the Install Printer Software window click “Have Disk”.

7)  In the Install From Disk window click Browse. Locate and open the Citizen Drivers folder and double-click on your operating system (most likely Win_XP) and select and open the “OEMSETUP” file. In the Install From Disk window click OK.

8)  You will now see the list of drivers in the Add Printer Wizard window. Click on “CBM1000 Partial Cut” and click Next.

9)  In the Name Your Printer window type in “UDC Receipt” and click Next.

10)  In the Print Test Page window click Yes. Click Next.

11)  In the Completing the Add Printer Wizard window click Finish, and then click “Continue Anyway” in the Windows Logo Testing window. The drivers will install and a test page should print on your Citizen printer. Click OK and Finish.

Instructions For USB Printers (those with small connectors)

1)  Disconnect the UDC/Citizen printer from the computer and restart your computer. After your computer is restarted, turn on the printer and connect the USB printer to the computer.

2)  When the Found New Hardware Wizard screen appears click on “No, not this time” and click Next.

3)  In the next window click on “Install from a list or specific location” and click Next.

4)  Uncheck the box that says, “Search removable media” and check the box that says, “Include this location in the search”.

5)  Click Browse and in the Browse For Folder window locate and open the Citizen Drivers folder. Then click on USB > Printer Driver > 2000XP (if you’re operating system is not 2000 or XP then select 98ME). Click OK and then Next.

6)  In the “select the best match for your hardware” window select “CBM1000 Partial Cut” and click Next.

7)  The drivers will now install. When the Hardware Installation window appears click “Continue Anyway”. When this is complete click Finish. Your printer driver is now installed; please see the section titled “Setting The Specifications For Your UDC/Citizen Printer”.

Setting The Specifications For Your UDC/Citizen Printer

1)  In the Printers and Faxes window right-click on the UDC Receipt icon and go to Properties.

2)  In the Properties window select the General tab and click “Printing Preferences” at the bottom of the window.

3)  Click “Advanced” and in the drop down window select “Receipt Length 80 x 3276mm 48c”. Click OK, Apply, and OK again.

4)  Click on the Advanced tab and click on “Printing Defaults”.

5)  Click “Advanced” and in the drop down window select “Receipt Length 80 x 3276mm 48c”. Click OK, Apply, and OK again.

6)  Click on the Device Settings tab and make sure “Receipt Length 80 x 3276mm 48c” is selected in the drop down window. Click OK and the Properties window will close. You can also close the Printers and Faxes window.

7)  Open Internet Explorer, go to the File menu and select “Page Setup”.

8)  In the Page Setup window click on “Printer”, select “UDC Receipt” in the drop down window and click “Properties”.

9)  Click “Advanced” and in the drop down window select “Receipt Length 80 x 3276mm 48c”. Click OK on the windows until you are back at the Page Setup window.

10)  In the Page setup window delete all text within the Header and Footer windows.

11)  For the Left, Right, Top and Bottom margins set these to .33. Click OK.

You are now complete in the setup of your UDC/Citizen Receipt printer.
