Fall Reception to Leave a Lasting Impression on the Community

The Tulsa Area United Way Women’s Leadership Council will hold its fall reception, “Leaving a Lasting Impression” on Sept. 26 at the Mayo Hotel. Attendees will hear from business owner Jill Donovan of Rustic Cuff, on the topic of finding personal true beauty and making an impact on the community.

“Women all over the world suffer from an inability to know their worth and see their true beauty,” said Caron Lawhorn, chair of the Women’s Leadership Council (WLC). “In many cases, this can hold them back from achieving their full potential.”

The WLC will address this issue with a video and a discussion on how each woman can make an impression in her sphere that will last lifetime, Lawhorn said.

Becky Frank, of Schnake Turnbo Frank, who is founding chair of the Women’s Leadership Council and current chair of the Tulsa Area United Way 2013 Campaign, will share her vision as the first solo female chair of a local United Way campaign. Lawhorn, who works at ONEOK, will welcome guests and provide an update on the future of the WLC.

Participants will be provided an opportunity to give back in a tangible way, Lawhorn said. They are asked to bring one accessory item (new or gently used) such as a purse, belt, jewelry, or pair of shoes to donate to a United Way partner agency.
