2015-2016 Dance Team

Dear Parents,

Your daughter has shown interest in becoming a member of the Discovery Middle School Dance Team for the 2015-16 school year. If she is chosen to be a member of the team, there are specific responsibilities and obligations which she, and you, must assume in order to qualify and remain an active member of the team.

Being a member of the DMS Dance Team has many rewards and is a valuable experience your daughter will remember for a lifetime. Additionally, she will give pride and spirit to our school, students, and community through her participation. Because of the influential position of being a member of this dance team, the highest standards must be met and maintained.

Attached are specific obligations, rules, expenses and dates set for upcoming events. The expenses and dates are subject to change. After reading through the information and discussing the parent/participant/advisor agreement with your daughter, please sign and return the form to me with the remainder of the tryout forms no later than March 18. This is the first day of tryouts. No late forms will be accepted.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at the school or email me.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

  • Participants will learn and perform a dance routine(s), kicks, jumps, leaps, turns, and splits.
  • Participants will try out with a partner or in a group of 3 of their choice. No one will try out alone. If a girl does not choose their own partner, a partner/group will be assigned by Mrs. Brooks.
  • Every day of tryouts is closed. No one will be allowed in the gym except the coach and the current eighth grade DMS dance team members.
