Dear parents and guardians,
We will be starting our Mini Spanish Film Festival Monday 5-16.
I have selected 2 movies to show the class and 1 short film. “Volver” from España is one of Almodovar’s films. Penélope Cruz was nominated for best Actress for this film. It is rated R for some sexual content (nothing graphic). I will skip over this part. “Anita” from Argentina is based on a terrorist attack in Buenos Aires. It is the story of a young woman with Down Syndrome who is separated from her mother and is trying to find her way home in the big city. It is rated NR. There is no sex just a few curse words. "Historia de un Oso" is the winner of this year's Oscar for best animated short film. It's about the political struggles of Chile and is silent It is NR.
