Title: LUNCHROOM MONITOR File 806

Reports to: Building Principal

Job Objectives: Supervises students in the lunchroom; assists with recess supervision.

Minimum · High school diploma. Post-secondary culinary training is preferred.

Qualifications: · Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., a negative tuberculosis test, etc.).

· A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment.

· Satisfactory pre-employment drug-screening test. Complies with drug-free workplace rules.

· Keeps current with technology and other workplace innovations that support job functions.

· Ability to comply with nutrition, health, and safety regulations.

· Ability to supervise students and work cooperatively with lunchroom staff and teachers.

· Meets all prerequisite qualifications to be bonded.

· Checks with the food service director for assignments and/or instructions. Carefully follows all directions. Seeks advice when expectations are unclear.

· Upholds board policies and follows administrative guidelines/procedures.

· Promotes a professional image of the school district.

· Carefully uses products and supplies to control costs and reduce waste. Advises the food service director about the need for additional inventory.

· Organizes, stores, dates, and rotates stock as directed.

· Helps other staff as needed to meet established schedules.

· Replenishes supplies to maintain an orderly flow of customers.

· Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time.

· Promptly documents all injuries that require a medical referral.

· Promotes a positive image of the food service department. Wears appropriate work attire and maintains a neat appearance.

· Respects personal privacy. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information.

· Reports student discipline problems, vandalism, or other related concerns to the building principal.

· Takes precautions to ensure safety. Watches for conduct and situations that may indicate a problem. Works with supervisors to manage or eliminate risk factors.

· Reports suspected child abuse and/or neglect to civil authorities as required by law.

· Participates in staff meetings and professional growth activities as directed.

· Strives to develop rapport and serve as a positive role model for others.

· Maintains a professional appearance. Wears work attire appropriate for the position.
