Parent Group Leader Trainingfor practitioners working with Parents of Children with a Disability or Special Needs - 18th/19th & 25th /26th November

The Parenting Puzzle is a structured 10 week programme promoting emotional health, relationship skills and positive behaviour management strategies for parents/carers. Family Links 4-day training forpractitioners working with parents of children and young people who have a disability, in special needs settings or services. The Nurturing Programme has been delivered successfully in numerous special schools across the UK. However, Family Links is aware that parents of children with a disability can face many additional challenges. We have therefore collaborated with clinical psychologists from Ealing’s Service for Children with Additional Needs to develop a handbook, specifically for practitioners working with this group of parents. It is recommended that the handbook is only used by Parent Group Leaders who have experience of working with children with disabilities and when all of the parents in the group have a child with a disability.
