How to apply
The ESA Foundation awards numerous scholarships annually; this is the process for applying.
1. Browse scholarships - From the main scholarship page, start by selecting the state of your residence, not where you go to school. Click “Search scholarships” to view the full list of opportunities for the 2013-14 academic years.
2. Create a scholarship account – Once you have identified some potential scholarships, click “Apply now” to access our online scholarship application system. We'll collect your contact, financial, and academic profile information to customize your scholarship search and speed your online submission.
3. Submitting an application - Scholarship applications are submitted online through the automated system and the information collected will be passed along to the scholarship director.
4. After submission - When the application has been determined to meet the Foundation's criteria, it is forwarded to Scholarship Coordinator who checks to see that the applicant meets the necessary criteria. The application is then sent for judging of the particular scholarship for which the student is applying.

High School Seniors, Bring Your ‘A’ Game for
Wendy’s High School Heisman
The Wendy’s High School Heisman (WHSH) Award program is accepting applicants for its 2015 class.
The Wendy’s High School Heisman Program is looking for all types of high-achieving seniors from more than 29,000 public and private high schools within the U.S. We consider young men and women who participate in a wide range of sports and school and community activities. If you’re one of the 1.4 million high school athletes across the country that excels in the classroom, on the field, and within your school and community, apply now. Or if you’re a teacher, coach, counselor, or administrator, learn how to refer a student. And don’t forget to check out the program timeline for important application deadlines and dates.
Know what it takes: Student Eligibility Criteria
To achieve award eligibility for the 2014 Wendy’s High School Heisman Program, students must be seniors during the 2014/2015 academic years, graduating with the class of 2015. Applicants must:

Beginning now through Oct. 3, 2014, eligible students can apply at www.WendysHeisman.com for a chance to earn the honored title of WHSH.
Twelve national finalists and their families will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City where they will attend and be recognized at the official Heisman ceremony.
Winners – one male student and one female student – will be honored with the WHSH Award during a national ESPN telecast and receive $10,000 for their school, as well as a $500 Wendy’s gift card.
AES Engineers
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.

Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted.

Flinn Scholars
This year, 20 of Arizona’s highest-achieving students will become Flinn Scholars, receiving an unparalleled package for undergraduate study:

Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program
10 $7,000 Scholarships AwardedFunded through the generosity of the Suzanne and Walter Scott Foundation
The Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in the State of Arizona who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Arizona Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
· Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Arizona; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2015 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation
· Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete abachelor’s degreeat an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
· Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
· Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
· Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
· Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
· Be a resident of Arizona; and
· Be a United States citizen

Coca-Cola Scholarships
The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarshipis an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.

The Coca-Cola Community College Academic TeamThe Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation proudly continues its support of Two Year Colleges through the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team Program by providing up to $237,500 in stipends. 200 stipends are awarded annually across four tiers of recipients in varying amounts: Fifty NewCentury Gold Scholars are awarded $1,500, fifty Silver Scholars are awarded $1,250, and fifty Bronze Scholars are awarded $1,000.This scholarship is administered by Phi Theta Kappa, and application details can be found on their website,www.ptk.org.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be:
· Current high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools);
· U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Refugees; Asylees; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees;
· Anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application;
· Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution;
· Carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.
Applicants may not:
· Be children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca-Cola bottling companies, The Coca-Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.
Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise is Phi Theta Kappa’s first scholarship program available to its members to be used during the time they are enrolled in community colleges. 180 scholarships of $1,000 each will be awarded based on applications submitted by members.This scholarship is administered by Phi Theta Kappa, and application details can be found on their website,www.ptk.org.

Panfilo H. Contreras Honorary Student Scholarship
The Panfilo H. Contreras Honorary Scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2013 by ASBA’s Hispanic-Native American Indian Caucus. Hispanic and Native American Indian students who are juniors or seniors in high school are eligible to apply for this scholarship to support their attendance at an accredited post-secondary institution. Last year’s scholarships were $1,000 each. The scholarships will be presented at the opening session of the ASBA-ASA Annual Conference.
Only students who have submitted complete entry materials will be considered. The committee will designate an alternative recipient to receive the scholarship award if for any reason the initial named recipient is unable to fulfill the award requirements in a timely manner.
Deadline is Friday, Oct. 31, 2014.
CRITERIA
The worthy student:
· Shall be a Hispanic or Native American Indian junior or senior of an accredited public high school in Arizona in a district whose governing board is an active member of the Arizona School Boards Association.
· Shall enroll in an accredited institution in Arizona.
· Shall have maintained a high school record that reflects high academic achievement and regular attendance; respectable leadership and citizenship among peers; and sustained participation in school/community activities.
SELECTION OF THE RECIPIENT
· Only students who have submitted complete entry materials will be considered.
· The Scholarship Committee will select the most qualified student in accordance with the award criteria and guidelines.
· The Scholarship Committee shall designate an alternative recipient to receive the scholarship award if for any reason the initially-named recipient is unable to fulfill the award requirements in a timely manner.

· Narrative statement presenting student’s resume, education and career interests, family background information, school/community activities, leadership roles, academic status/attendance and an explanation of student’s desire and need to receive this scholarship.

Arizona School Counselor’s Association Scholarship
The Arizona School Counselors Association, Inc. awards three high school seniors with a $1000.00 nonrenewable scholarship to assist with post-secondary education costs.
Eligibility:
-Must be a high school senior attending a public or private secondary school in the
state of Arizona.
-Must be a permanent resident of the state of Arizona.
-Must plan to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2015-2016 school year.
Essay prompts not to exceed 500 words. Choose one of the following essay prompts to complete your application:
- Social media is taking over our world. How will this positively affect your career after college? How might it negatively affect your career?
Or
- Arizona continues to rank 50th in the United States for student funding in education. How would you go about advocating for the educational system in this state to increase its funding?

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards ($1,000 - $5, 000)
Who Can Apply?
Any young person in grades 5-12 who is a legal resident of any U.S. state or the District of Columbia and who has conducted a volunteer service activity within the 12 months prior to the date of the application. Completed applications need to be submitted to a school principal or the head of an officially designated local organization by the last weekday in October. These organizations are:
* Girl Scout councils
* County 4-H organizations
* American Red Cross chapters
* YMCAs
* Affiliates of HandsOn Network
(Employees of Prudential, NASSP, or any of its affiliates, and any firm involved in the program, their children, and previous National Honorees are NOT eligible. Previous state honorees are eligible only if their submitted activities are significantly different from previously honored activities.)
The application must:
•describe an individual's community service activity or an individual's significant leadership in a group activity that has taken place during the previous year,
•be completed and submitted to a school principal or the head of an officially designated local organization by November 5, and
•be certified by the principal of a middle level or high school or the head of an officially designated local organization. These individuals should review implementation instructions carefully.
