WELCOME TO OUR NEW EVANGELIST

I am pleased to announce that Derek McDonald has been hired as our new Evangelist and will begin his employment at St Catherine in July. Derek has a Master’s in Theological Studies from St John’s Seminary in Boston and received his undergraduate degree from St Anselm College in Manchester. He and his fiancé, Terry, will be married at St Thomas of Aquinas Church on June 21. We welcome Derek and Terry to the parish.

SAINT CATHERINE PARKING LOT

It’s been almost a year since the City of Manchester’s Planning Board informed us that we had to re-stripe the parking lot according to the design that was approved at the time of the school addition in 2000 which consisted of the gym, classrooms, conference room, elevator and offices. John Ball, a parishioner and owner of Top Quality Paving, came forward with an offer to assist with the project. The striping is a donation to St. Catherine of Siena Parish and is given in lasting memory of John’s beloved wife, Diann, who died of cancer last year. In the name of this community, I thank John for his efforts in making this “not so little job” possible. In the near future, we will be unveiling details of other improvements to come. Fr. Paul

UPDATING OUR DATA BASE

Some of you may have received a phone call from the rectory office asking to confirm/update the information that we currently have on file. It has been several years since this has been done and it is necessary. This process will take place over several months. As more people discontinue their land-lines and replace their phones with cellphones, we are finding that telephone numbers in our data base are often incorrect, as well as address changes or children moving out of the household. Your cooperation is very much appreciated.

STEUBENVILLE - EAST TRIP

Steubenville East is a retreat where over 4,000 high school teens go to become closer to the Lord. During this 3-day weekend, they listen to readings and songs and hear Priests spreading the word of the Gospel. There is time for worship, prayer, adoration, and healing. They come back feeling like they belong to a community—our community of St. Catherine. Please help these kids with any monetary donation that you can. Our biggest expense is the tuition cost of $200 per student. If you would like to help with this expense, place your donation in an envelope marked “Steubenville Retreat” and drop it in the weekly collection. Thank you for helping these young adults to continue their faith journey.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ's side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within your wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from You.
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come to you.
That I may praise you with the saints
and with the angels forever and ever.
Amen.
