INDIANA ASSOCIATION OF FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INFORMATION

The Indiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarships have been established for the purpose of recognizing excellent scholastic achievement, leadership, and participation in family and consumer science activities.

Three INAFCS Scholarships are available each year, the amount to be determined annually. One scholarship will be awarded to a student in each of the state supported institutions listed below which have a granting degree in Family and Consumer Sciences.

State Institutions

Ball State University

Indiana State University

Purdue University

Institutions granting degrees in family and consumer sciences may be added to or deleted from the list.

Universities may determine award based on the criteria noted below.

Criteria:

1.  Applicants for the scholarship must be student members of the AAFCS/INAFCS.

2.  Applicant shall have a B grade point average on all college work.

3.  Applicant shall be a major in some area of Family and Consumer Sciences

4.  Applicant shall be a full-time student and have definite plans for a professional career in Family and Consumer Sciences.

Rating Scale:

Grade point average of B or above verified by the university 20%

Two faculty recommendations 20%

Student Goals 20%

Family and Consumer Sciences related activities 20%

Non-related Family and Consumer Activities 10%

Awards and Honors 10%

TOTAL 100%
