CHANGE OF VENUE – CLAREMONT STADIUM
The Navan Academy is on the move!!! We are moving to Claremont Stadium, Commons Road, Navan as and from next Saturday 21st January. Class will no longer be held in the Newgrange Hotel. Class times will remain the same. While we have enjoyed our time in The Newgrange, we will have more space available to us in Claremont. Ample Parking and tea/coffee facilities are available to parents free of charge.
Directions to Claremont Stadium- Take the Trim road out of Navan (past Bananas) and you will come to Beechmount Garden Centre on the right. Turn right here and continue along this road until you come to Commons Cars on your left, and a set of traffic lights. At the lights take a left. Continue on this road for 1min and Claremont Stadium is on the left surrounded by tall silver railings.
WIZARD OF OZ
We are starting Sunday rehearsals for all lead cast members this Sunday in Kells Theatre. Every child will be notified via text as to when they are required. Please note The Wizard of Oz will take place in Kells Theatre from 11th-14th April. All students from Teeny Tots upwards will be taking part in this exciting show. Please note extra rehearsals will take place in the Kells Theatre from 2nd-6th April, dates and times to be confirmed later.
If any parent is available to assist us with printing, design, costumes, backstage, front of house or in any other way with the show, please contact us as we would appreciate any help we can get.
MARQUEE REQUIRED
Due to the large number of students taking part in The Wizard of Oz, we will require the use of a marquee at the Kells Theatre from 10th-15th April. If you know of anyone who can loan us a marquee, please let us know asap.
KELLS PANTO
This year’s Kells Musical Society’s Panto is Shrek’s Big Adventure. It will take in Kells Theatre from 4th-12th February. We are delighted to have the following Academy students dancing in the panto – Esha Hughes, Millie Finucane, Laura McCabe, Alyssa White, Lauren Murtagh, Leah Mulvaney, Rubimae Hoskins, Katie Conachy, Chelsea Hannon, Molly Murphy Hazzard, Ciara Byers, Ciara O’Neill, Katie Fitzsimons, Rebecca Hilliard, Emily Lynch, Caitlyn Murphy & Ciara Byers. Sheila is Choreographer for the show and assisted by Katie Duffy. Please go along and support the girls, it will be a fantastic show. Tickets are available by contacting 046 9241844.
WELCOME LEIGHANNE GOODWIN – DANCE TEACHER
Leighanne started with The Academy when we first opened 8 years ago. She studied dance trained in Inchicore College of Further Education. She excelled in all genres of dance. We are delighted to have her back as a teacher and look forward to working with her in the Wizard of Oz.
