Here’s what’s happening inour class the week of October 7th!

Reading-This week we will continue our guided reading groups with discussing important details and text features in our nonfiction reading. Students are also reading nonfiction books independently and focusing on text features and facts learned in a new nonfiction project.

Language- Students will be learning more about using conjunctions, adjectives, adverbs, similes, and metaphors. Students will be working on descriptive paragraphs of haunted houses.

Science-We will continue discussingand reviewing Virginia’s Natural Resources such as our watershed and minerals found around our state.

Math-This week students will work on subtraction computation and estimation problems and word problems. There will be a subtraction quiz on Friday. Subtraction has been very difficult for some students, especially when there are zeros in the top number. Please check their homework carefully this week. Students should show all work in order to get credit for doing their homework!
