“Swallowing your pride seldom leads to indigestion”
~Unknown
We congratulate the students pictured above for their outstanding work at OCHS! They were nominated by teachers and staff because of great work and good attitudes. They received T-shirts and Subway gift cards compliments of the OCHS Youth Services Center. Names of these students are not listed because of internet safety regulations.
Tara Maikranz
I have a bachelor’s degree from University of Southern Indiana in Studio Art and Psychology and a master’s Degree in Teaching. Before becoming a teacher I worked in family and adolescent/child therapy as well as recreational/art therapy. I am now an art teacher here at OCHS. My current classes include Visual Art, Introduction to 3D Art, Ceramics, and AP Art. I love my job! There is nothing better than seeing students grow into independent, creative, and productive adults!
My husband of 18 years teaches English 1 here at OCHS. My son attends Gatton Academy at WKU and my daughter is a 7th grader at Ohio County Middle School. Our other two children are a 180 lb. English Mastiff and a 24 lb. pug. We also foster dogs from the shelter until they can find homes.
Most of my free time is spent at my daughter’s basketball and soccer games or chauffeuring her back and forth to practices. When I can find time, I like to read, shop, draw, paint, sculpt, and make jewelry. My current obsession is Netflix! I am now waiting for the second half of season 5 of Breaking Bad and season 4 of Walking Dead!

I graduated high school at Butler County High School. Attended Western Kentucky University and Bowling Green Technical College, and acquired an Associates Degree in Applied Science. I have 15 years experience in the welding field. I am excited to be the welding instructor and look forward to helping my students develop the skills needed to pursue a career in welding. I am married with 3 children. My hobbies include spending time with my family, and hunting

Check lunch balances and make payments online
We are pleased to announce that parents may now view their children’s lunch balances and make payments to their accounts online. This function has been added to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Nothing is required of the parent to be able to view their child’s lunch account balance. If parents wish to make a payment on this account, they may do so through the secure online payment system. There is a $2.00 transaction fee for each payment made regardless of the size of the payment, but parents may make payments for multiple children at one time with only one transaction fee. This information may also be viewed through the Infinite Campus apps for smartphones.
Thank you!
