Objectives:
·  Develop a prismatic color wheel with primary and colors.
·  Utilize primary colors in the creation of secondary, intermediate colors, and browns.
·  Recognize intermediate colors and discover their placement on a prismatic color wheel
·  Understand intermediate and analogous color families.
Procedures/Activities:
Day 1:
·  Prior to today’s class sw write in where each color is located on the color wheel. (5th grade- primary and secondary, 6th grade- primary, secondary, & intermediate)
·  They will also write all of the appropriate colors below on the written section. Spelling will count toward their grade.
·  Using primary colored tempera paints sw paint color wheels together with the rest of the class. They will use a mixing sheet to mix all the colors.
·  The mixing paper also includes a space for students to mix three different browns using the complimentary colors.
·  Color wheels will be placed on drying rack until following class
Day 2:
·  Pass back completed color wheels to students.
·  Sw complete any information they may not have previously on the bottom of the worksheet and turn it in for a grade.
·  They will take the time to complete their color information papers if not already done so which will be kept in their art portfolios once they are brought in to the classroom.
Day 3:
·  Color trivia powerpoint is complete with 6th grade only. Stickers are passed out for missing three or less.
Materials:
Red, blue, and yellow tempera paint, small paper plates, paper towels, pencils, water, water buckets, handout on color, Color Trivia assessment, small color wheels / Vocabulary:

Students will be given a small color wheel to follow at their seat, visual students will be given an enlarged copy of the handout as well as a color copy of the power point, life skills students will be given red, yellow, and blue play dough to mix.
·  Sw also be given a color wheel that already has the colors written into the circles.
