Application for 2018 Master Gardener Training

Master Gardener training is based on a wealth of educational materials developed by the Virginia Cooperative Extension of Virginia Tech. It is organized by the Washington County Extension Service and Washington County Virginia Master Gardeners. This program is open to those individuals in southwestern Virginia and eastern Tennessee who are willing to commit to providing horticultural education, information and assistance to the citizens of our communities. The training consists of 50 hours of classroom instruction and a requested minimum of 50 hours of community service within twelve months after completing the classroom training. Master Gardeners commit to 20 hours of horticulture related service and 8 hours of educational hours each year after completing the training.

Classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evenings, January 9– May 1, 2018

at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, I-81 exit 14.

The class is being offered at the special price of $99, which includes a copy of the Master Gardener Handbook.

Two people may register for $125, if they share one Handbook.
