2015 Andy Cerrato Scholarship Application
The Andy Cerrato memorial scholarship was established to honor a former graduate of Marinette High School, class of 1990. Andy had a passion for education and athletics. He touched many lives while teaching and coaching in De Pere, WI, after graduating from the University of MN-Duluth. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 40 while out for a run.
The scholarship is available to Marinette High School seniors who are either planning a career in education and/or have participated on an athletic team during every year of high school. The scholarship of $1000 can only be awarded to an individual once.
Scholarship Criteria:
1. Any graduating senior at Marinette High School intending to enroll in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Education at a four year college or university AND/OR participated in a sport all four years of high school (can be another high school if a student transferred to Marinette).
2. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above.
3. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a permanent resident of Wisconsin.
Application Process and Key Dates:
1. Application will be available via the Marinette High School Counseling Office after February 1, 2015.
2. Submit the application, high school transcript and essay to the Marinette High School Counseling Office no later than April 15, 2015.
3. Applicants must complete the application, write an essay and request the counseling office to attach a copy of their first semester senior high school transcript.
4. Scholarship winners will be announced at the May Senior Scholarship Assembly.
5. Payment to the student will be made following proof that first semester’s tuition was paid. A copy of tuition payment can be submitted to Tammy Cerrato (℅ De Pere Middle School at 700 Swan Rd., De Pere, WI 54115).
