Athletic Hall of Fame

Purpose Statement

“The Purpose of Chelan High School Athletic Hall of Fame is to recognize, celebrate and remember individuals and or teams who have brought positive recognition to Chelan High School through their accomplishments in Athletics. As we recognize the positive achievements of the past, we encourage a culture of success and achievement for the future.”

Procedural Guidelines

· Nomination forms will be available at the District Office, the High School, and on the High School web site.

· Nomination forms will be due by Jan 16th of each year for induction that year.

· The Selection Committee will be made up of the following 1) the Chelan High School athletic director, 2) a representative from the coaches association/ and or current coach, 3) representatives of the school board, 4) representatives from the community, 5) former/retired coaches. If a member of the Board resigns or is terminated, the remaining committee members will decide on a replacement.

· The Selections Committee will have the authority to waive some of the requirements for candidates that excel in many areas, or in the case of extenuating circumstances.

· The Selection Committee will meet in December and announce before the last Home Basketball game if anyone will be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame for that year.

· The Selections Committee is charged with consideration of whether the “person nominated … distinguished himself/herself by demonstrating exceptional leadership, character and achievement in athletics

· The Induction Ceremony will be at half-time of the last Home Basketball Game at CHS.
