Open Afternoon
Thankyou to all those who came to our open afternoon last Monday. We hope you found it useful and now have a greater understanding of your children’s learningas you chatted to themin their classroom.

Football Tournament
On Wednesday, Reception, Year 1 and 2 children went off to BoroughbridgeHigh School to play in a football tournament against other local schools. It was a cold morning but the children were eager and enthusiastic. We lost some matches, we won and we drew others, so a real mixed bag. We made it through to the semi final and we won 1-0 with a goal from Freddie. Through to the final! However, we lost 2-0 against Roecliffe. Everyone had a super morning and played brilliantly. It was fantastic to see so many of our children congratulating the winning team.
Sport Relief
Next Friday is Sport Relief Day! Children will be taking part in the Sport Relief mile during their PE lessons. They will be running, skipping and jumping around the field to complete their mile. Every child will be taking home a sponsorship form and between us we will be doing our best to help change the lives of other children around the world. Children can dress in onesies or PJ’s if they wish, (preferably red!).
Crucial Crew
All Year 6 children will be going to Ripon on Thursday 20th March for their Crucial Crew education. They will only be out for the morning and will be able to have school lunch on their return. We would be very grateful if a parent would be able to accompany the children with Miss Cartwright. Please let Miss Cartwright know as soon as possible.
Class photos
Unfortunately, the photographic session had to be postponed this week. Class photos will now be taken on Thursday 20th March in the afternoon.
Music Concert
Next Friday the 21st March, we are holding our termly music concert. It starts at 2.45pm. Please come along and enjoy the children’s compositions and instrumental playing.

We have had a couple more generous donations this week. Our latest update is £5625 which is fantastic!
Yinka Shonibare
Hopefully your children will have been telling you all about the superb Yinka Shonibare inspired artwork that they have been creating with Mrs Lumb over the last few weeks. If you would like to view their work and other schools creations from all over the county, then please visit The Old Courthouse, Thirsk, between 2nd April and 5th May.

Mrs Tuley is holding a competition for the best drawn Easter picture. There will be a prize for the winning picture in each class. Please bring your entry to the school office by Wednesday 2nd April.
Little Ouseburn Play Group
On Wednesday 2nd April from 10 until 12pm, Little Ouseburn Playgroup are holding a spring themed open morning. Please drop in for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and spread the word to others. Thank you.
Annie
From Tuesday 1st April to Thursday 3rd April starting at 7pm, BoroughbridgeHigh School will be performing the musical ‘Annie’. This involves some of our ex-pupils so please book your seats, support our past students and have an enjoyable evening! Tickets are available from the High School’s Reception desk or by ringing 01423 323540. Adults £5, children £3.
