EmploymentOpportunity– Nurse Practitioner (RN EC) Lead(Full Time – Permanant)
Seekingan experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide services to the surrounding First Nation communities ofChapleau and Wawa. The scope of this service is providing primary health care services as well as leading an integrated-disciplinary team to provide primary health care to clients and their families within a client-centred care model emphasizing health promotion, chronic disease management and client education.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with Extended Class designation
- Candidate with a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Certificates is an asset.
- Must be member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Three to five years’ work related work experience.
- Additional training or credentialing is considered an asset (Certified Diabetes Educator and/or TEACH)
- Knowledge of data collection analysis, business intelligence, policy development and program planning.
- Ability to multi-task, organize multiple projects and programs.
- Ability to work within an integrated Primary Health Care team environment.
- Demonstrated competence in conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of Anishinabek Health and Traditional health practices.
- Excellent management, oral and written communication skills.
- Possess a valid driver’s licence, safe driving record as demonstrated in a driver’s abstract and access to a reliable vehicle
Given the traditional practices of Aboriginal people, from time to time exposure to smoke from the burning of sacred medicines such as tobacco, sweet grass, sage or cedar may occur.
