5aBased on attendances between April and September 2013, the greatest number of Ultrasound scans is carried out on a Thursday in Ysbyty Gwynedd and on a Tuesday in Wrexham Hospital and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. However, the busiest sessions are on a Tuesday between 9am and 12pm in Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on a Thursday morning between 9am and 12pm.

5bBased on attendances between April and September 2013, the greatest number of CT scans is carried out on a Tuesday in Ysbyty Gwynedd and Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and on a Wednesday in Wrexham Maelor Hospital. However, the busiest sessions are on a Monday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm in Ysbyty Gwynedd, Tuesday afternoon in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and Wednesday afternoon in Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

6a&bThe number of whole time equivalent (WTE) staff employed by the Health Board on each site is shown in the table below. Within these numbers staff are allocated to a range of modalities and therefore there is some crossover with CT, MRI, plain film and extended role reporting and there is some degree of cross site working. As a result the staffing numbers across sites are not necessarily comparable.

7aThe number of sonographers on duty for each session is flexed in order to support some regular commitments. The table below shows the typical staffing levels for each of the sessions although there is some variation over the week. At present the Health Board does not provide a scheduled weekend ultrasound scanning service. Access to ultrasound at these times is through the consultant radiologist on call.

The Health Board does not record the admission route in the Radiology systems and therefore the data provided show all in patient activity. This will include some activity arising as a result of elective admissions. It is not possible to identify the separate components.
