National Junior Honor Society Longhorn Chapter Student Application

The purpose of the NJHS at JLMS is to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop student character.

Requirements:

  1. Must be a 7th or 8th grade student who has attended JLMS for at least 1 semester.
  2. Must have A’s & B’s on the last report card for the 2015-2106 school year.
  3. Students must demonstrate high standards of leadership, service, character, and citizenship
  4. Applications will be reviewed, and members selected by the Faculty Council

1. Leadership - “Leadership should exert a wholesome influence on the school. In taking initiative in the classroom and in school activities, the real leader strives to train and aid others to reach their common goals of success” In the text box, describe a time you demonstrated leadership in the classroom or in school activities.

5. Teacher Recommendation – Have three current teachers provide a recommendation.

*Teachers please provide a recommendation regarding the student’s leadership, service, character and citizenship in the classroom with 5 being excellent and 1 needs improvement. (see bold definitions above)
