MOVI PREP: SPLIT DOSING
For motivated patients, and those who have procedures in the afternoon, split prepping can be more effective in the colon cleansing process. You may not have any clear liquids (including the prep) until 4 hours before your procedure. Therefore if you do not think you can finish the early morning dose, please perform the regular prep instructions
The MoviPrep kit contains 2 packages and a mixing container. Each package contains 1 pouch A and 1 pouch B. Following the instructions, you will use all 4 pouches to complete your prep. You must complete the entire prep to ensure the most effective cleansing.
PREPARE THE EVENING DOSE OF MOVIPREP IN THE MORNING
  1. Empty 1 pouch A and 1 pouch B into the disposable MoviPrep container.
  2. Add water to the top line of the container. Shake to dissolve and refrigerate. The solution should be used within 24 hours. A straw can be used to help drink the MoviPrep solution.
EVENING DOSING REGIMEN: Date______Start time: 6 PM
The MoviPrep container is divided by 4 marks. Every 15 minutes, drink the solution down to the next mark (approximately 8 ounces), until the full liter is complete. You may start going to the bathroom after only a couple of glasses, but be sure to drink ALL of the solution.Drink an additional 16 ounces of the acceptable clear liquid of your choice. This is a necessary step to prevent dehydration and an effective prep.

The prep will produce watery stool (diarrhea) which cleanses the colon for the colonoscopy. The first bowel movement may occur approximately 1 hour after the start of MoviPrep. At the end of your prep, your stool should be watery in consistency and should be clear to light yellow. Remember to stay adequately hydrated by drinking clear liquids before, during, and after the use of MoviPrep.
If nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort or distention occurs, stop drinking MoviPrep temporarily or drink each portion at longer intervals until these symptoms diminish. If symptoms persist, call the office at 914-493-7337.
During the prep, you may have some anal discomfort from frequent bowel movements, use baby wipes to clean, and apply Vaseline or preparation H if the skin around your anus gets irritated. You can have clear liquids up to 4 hours prior to the procedure. FAILURE TO BE COMPLETELY FASTING FOR 4 HOURS WILL DELAY OR CANCEL YOUR PROCEDURE
