Public organization’s „Children – part of society” activities’ overview:
Vision
To become an active, open-type, mass, enlightening organization, which would unite and represent the children’s, youth and local community’s interests, directed towards improvement of the social environment, encouragement of self-expression and creativeness as well as upbringing of the active citizens.
Mission
To represent the children and the youth, to provide mediation services for them; to provide them with the information on urgent items; to develop their self-expression and creativeness; to assist them in implementation of their ideas, to unite them for the common activity, to assist them in cooperation with the state, social, etc. institutions; to render the social services and to assist them in integration into the society. To unite the local community, to encourage an active participation in social life while solving the common problems.
Publishing activity
We have published 38 issues “Children are a part of the society” about our activity; we prepared 7 leaflets, 8 calendars, 1 art album, 19 video tapes, photos, display stands; we have an internet page www.facebook.com/vvd.lt , which constantly reflects our activity.
The purpose is to present our activity to the society, to share our experience.
The public organization “Children are a part of the society” is open to everybody. The number of members of the organization constantly increases: we had 36 members in the year 1999, 300 members – in the year 2002, 578 members – in the year 2004 and 620 members – in the year 2005, 1547 - in the year 2012 The number of the children’s and youth’s representatives, who participate in our activity, evenly increases: there were 120 representatives in the year 1999, 2285 representatives – in the year 2002, 3965 representatives – in the year 2004 and 6752 representatives – in the year 2005. and 10000 representatives – in the year 2011.
The children and youth directly participate in our art and sport events, trips, occupation, activities, organized by the daytime centers, and in the projects.
147 projects according to 13 programs were implemented. Besides, we constantly participate in Europe’s, the capital’s and the youth fairs, in the actions “The bank of food-stuffs”, in presentation of the projects, in sittings, seminars, competitions in between strong teams, etc. We have received the letters of gratitude, the certificate “The most artistic youth organization”. The local press writes about us. 29 - 87 volunteers work for the organization (teachers, social teachers, social workers, students, etc.).
You are welcome to get familiar with our activity. We would be grateful, if You could sponsor and support our activity or the program, which You appreciate. This would provide us with the possibility to assist the children and the youth in implementation of their thoughts and ideas about creating the future by laying common efforts.
Programs that are currently implemented:
1 Children’s day centers activity in Vilnius, Sirvintu and Radviliskio regions.
Activity of the 2 daytime centers for children, which are located in Vilnius and Bartkuskio village of Sirvintos district
Children’s day centers activity in Vilnius, Sirvintai and Radviliskes regions
The purpose is to render the social and upbringing services for children, the complex assistance for the family and the child, who are subjected to social risk; to do the social work regarding the family members, whose child attends the center; to assist the child and his/her family to solve the created problems; to cooperate, to provide and to exchange with the information about the activity of the daytime centers, meant for children, which will assure continuity of activity of these centers.
2 „We are Europeans“
The purpose is to gain knowledge about Europe, to share the experience, to communicate and to cooperate, to participate constantly in the projects and events, dedicated to the EU theme.
3 Sports activities – sports camps, competitions, events, etc.
Sport activity – the sport camps, competitions, meetings, etc.
The purpose is to execute the programs on prevention and occupation via sport; to develop the skills of the healthy way of life and sport.
4 Culture – a series of events and exhibits “Children and youth arts self-expression
opportunities” 5 Integration and socialization. We provide social services to target
groups of children, youth and their families.
Culture – the series of events and exhibitions “Possibilities of the children’s and of the youth’s artistic self-expression”
The purpose is to encourage the children’s and youth’s artistic and creative self-expression via competitions, art festivals, holidays, events, publications, fairs and organization of exhibitions. To encourage cognition of culture and art; to spread the cultural information.
5 Prevention program (against violence, smoking, alcohol use). Integrated assistance to
children and their families.
The program on prevention of crime, committed by children and youth
The purpose is to render the occupation, upbringing and complex social services for the children, coming from the socially omitted families, to assist them in creation of the safe and healthy social environment. To cooperate, to provide and exchange with the information about participation of children, which ensures continuity of the activity.
Complex assistance, rendered to the children and their families, who have suffered from violence
The purpose is to encourage the previous participation while settling the family conflicts. To render the social services, complex assistance and support by informing about the possibilities of activity. To develop the communication skills, to involve in the common activity and preventive actions. To ensure continuity of the program.
6 The program on social rehabilitation and integration of the convicts and the persons, who have been discharged from the places of imprisonment, into the society
The purpose is to render the social services to the children and youth, attributed to the purposive groups. To integrate them into the labour market and the society, to reduce the social alienation, to develop the abilities to adapt towards changes, to deepen the acquired knowledge, to provide the conditions to study and to acquire the profession.
7 Program-based camps for children: Daytime camp - “Let’s get acquainted with our
capital“ The traveling tourist educational camp – “Let’s get acquainted with Lithuania”
(its language, history, culture and ethnography)”; Training of youth leaders – “We are
Europeans”; Sports-tourism camp – “Sport helps”; Arts-tourism camp „Get to know
yourself“. Program-based summer camps for children
The daytime camp – “Let’s get acquainted with our capital”;
The travelling tourist educational camp – “Let’s get acquainted with Lithuania” (its language, history, culture and ethnography)”;
Training of the leaders of the youth – “We are Europeans”;
The sport-tourist camp – “Sport helps”;
The art-tourist camp – “Recognize yourself”.
The camps are arranged according to the educational, tourist, sport, creative-art programs and the programs, meant for travellers and training of the leaders.

9. Program „How I can change my village“ to help youth mobilize human resources,
accomplish change in important areas of community’s life.
The purpose is to create the conditions for the youth to get involved and to participate in the processes of formation of the society, to assist the youth in mobilizing the human resources, to implement changes in urgent spheres of the community’s life, to plan development, to provide the information, to participate, to encourage activity of the community’s members and to strengthen partnership in the community as well as to implement the own ideas.
10 Strengthening of the organization. Trainings. Guidance for volunteers and
student interns.
Being in charge of probations and of the students’ practical work
The purpose is to strengthen the organization, practical knowledge and skills via search of the funds, execution of the projects and their presentation to the society as well as via trainings, camps, seminars, lectures, discussions and debates.
We have the “Strategy of the organization for the years 2005-2015”, “Investment project”, “Analysis of the possibilities”, “Draft of the Articles of Association of the non-stationary institution of social services”; we are taking the first philanthropy steps and what is the most important – we have the accumulated experience in training and activity.
11. Program Children’s Family Welfare Environment
Complex assistance, rendered to the children and their families, who have suffered from violence
The purpose is to encourage the previous participation while settling the family conflicts. To render the social services, complex assistance and support by informing about the possibilities of activity. To develop the communication skills, to involve in the common activity and preventive actions. To ensure continuity of the program.
