The Hole in the Wall Gang
August, 2006
Piru, California
Howdy one and all. I want to thank the following people for the July 29 and August 5 work parties: Latin Gun, Latin’s’ Lover, Drew II, Johnny Mac Brown, Lead Dispencer, K.D., Coffee, Jack Potter, Frito Bandito, Sgt. Major O’Donnel, Muleskinner Pat, Longshot, Aimless Lee, Max Doolin, Bronco Lane, Cold Iron Charley, Lusty Lil, Swifty Swede, Wild Bird, Tex Fiddler, Gary Owen, K.C. U.S. Marshal and Miss Sandy. A ton of work got done by this great group!!
The next work party is scheduled for September 2, 2006from8:00 am to 12:00 pm. We need all the help we can get. If you have cordless drills that take sockets, we really need you for target maintenance. Some form of lunch will be provided. One of the benefits of these work parties is a cleaner and more comfortable range; as evidenced by the new shade cover on bay 2 and the lack of trash and debris on the range. (A Shade cover for bay 1 is coming soon)
Special thanks to Latin Gun and Latin’s Lover for lunch at both work parties. Another special thanks to Max Doolin for his donation of two easy-ups, which are MUCH appreciated!!!
A brand new Hole in the Wall Website is up and running thanks to Lead Dispencer. The web site address is www.cas-holeinthewallgang.com. The newsletter will be e-mailed to the clubs mailing list, but if you need or prefer a snail mail copy please contact K.C. U.S. Marshall.
The July member’s match was attended by eighteen shooters. They are listed in the order of finish:
Tex Fiddler, Frito Bandito, Marshall Sturm, Irish Red O’Toole, Muleskinner Pat, Cold Iron Charley, Weewahootee, Lusty Lil, Latin Gun, Ignatius Guns, Bronco Lane, St. Joe’s Sheriff, Sawyer Wood, Kid So Cal, El Roberto, Max Doolin, Buck Steele, and Latin’s Lover.
The August 6, 2006 monthly match was well attended with sixty nineshooters. Maybe it was the weather, maybe it was knowing that the match was directed by Lead Dispencer or maybe it was the shade covers… but everyone seemed to have a fun time!! Lead Dispencer took six stages from this past 2006 End of Trail, applied them to our six bays and encouraged everyone who shot to compare their scores to those from End of Trail. Granted, the World Champion did have some edge, but he only beat Lefty Longridge by .35 one hundredths of a second. Of the sixty-nine shooters, five prevailed and shot the match clean. They are in no particular order:
Wild Bird, Blazing Saddles, Dead Eye Maverick, Frito Bandito, and Marshall Sturm.
Latin Gun and Latin’s Lover put on a great lunch for all of those in attendance.
September’s match will be hosted by Near Sighted Nate and his Dad, El Lobo Diablo. The match date is September 3rd. We hope to see you all out there again. Lunch will be provided by Latin Gun and Latin’s Lover for $5.00 per person. This will be a hamburger or a hot dog lunch.
