Dear River Oaks Member,

River Oaks Golf Club and the Men’s Member-Guest Committee invite you to attend the 2013 River Oaks Men’s Member-Guest Invitational “Beach Party at River Oaks.” The tournament will be held June 20th, 21st and 22nd. The tournament fee of $750.00 per team includes: three days of tournament golf; all meals and beverages; 2 parties for you, your guest and your dates; as well as tee gifts and tournament prizes.

This year’s event looks to be the best yet. After last year’s sell-out, we expect a full field of enthusiastic golfers and their guests to enjoy a weekend of golf, great food and friendship. The first round of Two-Man Best Ball format is scheduled for Thursday, June 20th. Dinner on the patio with live music will follow the round, along with the putting contest and of course, the team auction. The format will be Chapman Scotch on Friday and a Two-Man Best Ball on Saturday. Friday evening will feature live music with complementary party drinks.

This is the premier event for the club. River Oaks Golf Club will be closed to all members not participating in the Invitational beginning Thursday June 20th. This includes the golf course; all practice facilities and the Golfer’s Grill. The course and clubhouse will reopen on Sunday morning at 7:00 am.

If you have any questions concerning this event, please do not hesitate to call the golf shop. The field will be limited to the first sixty (60) paid teams. We look forward to hosting this special event and hope you will join us for these three days in June.

13th Annual Member / Guest Invitational

Welcome to our 2013 Member / Guest Tournament.

We know you will enjoy the Club and the Tournament!

FORMAT: 54 hole event. First round on Thursday will be a Two-Man Best Ball Format with the scores determining the order in which your team will be auctioned (within flights). Friday’s 2nd round format will be a Chapman Scotch (Modified Alternate Shot) and Saturday will be a Two-Man Best Ball. Five flights will be determined by combined team handicap. Day Money goes to low net rounds each day, not in the championship payoff. For all events we will use 80% of individual handicaps.

HANDICAP: Handicaps for each day’s events are as follows:

Thursday 80% handicap

Friday 40% of combined team handicap rounded off to the 10th

Saturday 80% handicap

FLIGHT WINNERS: Flight winners will be determined by Thursday, Friday and Saturday’s 54 hole net scores

AWARDS: The following teams will be awarded prizes in each Flight:

Champion, 2nd & 3rd

Member Guest Champion will be determined by an (Alternate Shot Horse Race) which will include all Flight Champions.

TIES: For flight winners ties will be broken by a scorecard playoff (18 backwards low net scores), Saturday round.

SPECIAL EVENTS: Special events will be awarded on all 3 days based on results from throughout the tournament. The awards will be given out at conclusion of Saturday’s round and are as follows:

Closest to the pin Longest Drive

4 awards on Thursday

4 awards on Friday

4 awards on Saturday

Team auction pot will be divided by flights and paid out 70% to 1st place and 30% to 2nd place. 36 holes, Friday and Saturday rounds combined net scores will be used to determine the winners. Team auction will be cash or check event only.

No ties will be broken for the team auction payoff.

OPTIONAL EVENTS: Horse Race on Friday starts with half the field playing #10 and half playing #5.

The top fifteen teams from holes 5 and 10 will advance to holes 6 and 11. The top six teams from hole 11 and the top six teams from hole 6 will advance to hole 7. The top six teams from hole 7 will advance to hole #8. The top three teams from hole 8 will advance to hole 9. 1st and 2nd place will be awarded cash prizes.

Thursday Skins will be low gross within flight

Saturday Skins will be low net within entire field

Putting tournament will consist of (1 trip per team). Prizes will be awarded to 1st place only. Putting tournament will be 2 man scramble ending at 8:30. At 8:30 low ten teams and ties will return to play alternate shot playoff. If a tie still exist, a sudden death playoff (combine score) will decide putting tournament winner

Entry For Optional Events is $100 per team

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

·  Complete all areas of the enclosed Member Registration & Guest Information Form by June 10th, 2013. (Field is limited to the first 60 teams entered and paid.)

·  Upon submitting your completed Member Registration Form, your credit card will be charged for the full amount of $750.00 tax included. You may also pay with an enclosed check for the exact amount of $750.00 tax included made payable to River Oaks Golf Club. All entries must be accompanied with a check for the total amount, or credit card information.

·  River Oaks is unable to hold spots for teams that have not paid the entry fee.

·  NOTE: The Club will be sending your guest a confirmation letter along with a tournament itinerary. Remember all contestants must have a current USGA HANDICAP INDEX to participate in the Invitational.

GUEST REQUIREMENTS

·  All participants must be at least 21 years of age

·  All players must have USGA amateur status

·  Guest who are past members must have resigned their membership 12 months prior to event

HANDICAP REGULATIONS

·  River Oaks Golf Club would like to ask all participants to have a current USGA RECONGNIZE HANDICAP INDEX for both members and their guests. The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust any handicap that is proven to be invalid.

·  Guest without handicaps the following guidelines will apply:

o  Tournament committee will assign all guests a handicap based on a minimum of 5 scores

o  Minimum of 5 scorecards shall be sign by player and witness. Cards must be turned into the River Oaks Golf Shop by June 15th

o  Max handicap for non-handicap player is 18 or 10 shots higher than members handicap (whichever one is lower)

o  The tournament committee reserves the right to adjust any handicap that is proven to be invalid
