CLASS TITLE:PERSONNEL OFFICER I - SES
ALLOCATION FACTOR(S)
This is managerial work directing all phases of a diversified personnel program in an agency. The employee(s) in the position(s) allocated to this class exercise(s) independent judgment in formulating or assisting in the formulation of policies and procedures which have significant impact in personnel administration and/or preparation and administration of budgets.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:

- Supervises the personnel programs and activities of an agency including the recruiting, screening, placement, training and performance evaluation programs.
- Formulates, reviews and evaluates personnel policies and procedures and makes recommendations for change.
- Conducts personnel studies in the areas of classification, turnover, training needs, recruitment and salary problems.
- Prepares personnel handbooks for the orientation and education of new personnel.
- Develops and maintains a personnel record keeping system to satisfy personnel budget and classification needs.
- Conducts organization studies and makes recommendations.
- Represents the agency on personnel matters.
- Performs related work as required.
