Rome: Yes, it is fun and we learn new stuff.
What makes you happy to come to school?
Siena: Colouring beautiful pictures, playing and drawing.
Ravenna: See my friends and learn new things.
Venice: We do fun things, working in Maths and English.
Pompeii: The teachers, our friends, all being together and in a community.
Verona: Learning new things, good teachers and playing with our friends.
Assisi: Nice teachers, when we learn new things, exciting topics, friends and fun P.E.
Rome: See above.
What helps you to learn a lot in lessons?
Siena: Reading, playing and the teacher.
Ravenna: My teacher.
Venice: The teachers and the PE teachers.
Pompeii: Teachers tell us what to do, dictionaries and counting on our hands. Resources like dienes, crocodiles and 100 squares.
Verona: Mrs Aldridge and Mrs Wright and others. Making lessons fun.
Assisi: Dictionaries, whiteboards, working wall, teachers and when teachers come to you individually.
Rome: Listening to examples on the board, focusing, resources and help from the teacher.
What subjects do you really enjoy?
Siena: Numbers and letters.
Ravenna: Maths and topic.
Venice: Science, numbers and topic.
Pompeii: English, Science, Art, Topic, R.E, Guided reading, French, Maths and P.E.
Verona: Science, Maths and English.
Assisi: Science, Art, Maths, English, Music, P.E, History and R.E.
Rome: PE, football club, art, enquiry, RE, Maths, English and Science.
What kind of lessons do you really enjoy?
Siena: Fun lessons and being outside.
Ravenna: Doing things.
Venice: Topic about penguins.
Pompeii: African drumming, outdoor learning, writing lessons, blob trees and when we get to work with partners.
Verona: English, Maths, practical lessons, topic-historical research.
Assisi: Showing you things.
Rome: Science outside, looking for bugs, research lessons and writing lessons.
What could we do to improve the curriculum in our school?
Siena: More things outside and painting.
Ravenna: (No understanding)
Venice: More toys on the playground and field.
Pompeii: To teach us to be nicer, to push and challenge us to new levels in Maths and English and by making learning fun by teaching us things that we enjoy.
Verona: Different teachers for different subjects. Books like the reading ones for homework.
Assisi: More work on times tables, fun rewards after hard work and we would like to do more of the foundation subjects.
Rome: More than one residential, more opportunities to use the field and a class camp-out.
Are there any other activities you would like us to consider?
Siena:Playdough and drawing.
Ravenna: Children couldn’t think of any.
Venice: Sticking, computers and games.
Pompeii: Geography: about different countries, more about space, cool experiments in Science and looking at more ‘WAGOL’ pieces of writing.
Verona: Tennis in school, swimming lessons for Y4, writing club, basketball and table tennis.
Assisi: Chemistry, Science week, History week, Chess, tennis and Swimming in other year groups other than Y3. Cricket, rock climbing and snooker.
Rome: Basketball, more swimming, fencing and dance lessons.
What ways do you think the school could hear your opinion?
Siena: Talking to people.
Ravenna: Telling my teacher.
Venice: Write it down.
Pompeii: In assemblies, in class and in the playground/ field.
Verona: More conversations with teachers, a book to share ideas and a place on the website.
Assisi: Opinion post box, Anti-bullying ambassadors meetings, the sanctuary, tell the teachers and lunchtime club meetings.
Rome: Via school council, suggestions books and write a letter to Mr Henstridge.
