In this position you will plan, develop, implement and evaluate programmes that promote health and wellbeing in communities. These activities will meet service requirements and contribute to positive health outcomes for the Taranaki population, whilst reducing inequalities in health and improving the health of Maori.

The focus of your work will be addressing the priority areas of tobacco and/or alcohol related harm and in partnership with a range of stakeholders including Maori.

Health Promoter (x2) - Supporting Communities

We are looking forexperienced, self-motivated people to join the Health Promotion Team. Our team,through implementing priority health programmes based on the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the Ottawa Charter,enable people to achieve their optimum level of health.

Members of the team work in a supportive environment and in partnership with the community and other health providers. The successful candidates will have qualifications in health or education.

Permanent, Part-time, 28 hours per week (0.7 FTE)

This position involves working mainly within the Maori community. Knowledge of Iwi networks and the ability to access Maori are essential.

A working knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga o Taranaki would be an advantage.
