Figure37 Those who attend fastfood outlet, and those who do not attend [1]

These two groups are defined in the following way:

Those who attend outlets, have answered the question “How often do you eat food from the following places?” once a month or more often (Three times a week or more, Once or twice a week and/or Once to three times a month) in at least one of the following outlets (Q4 A to E): A Convenience store, kiosks, snack bars, sales stall. B Fast food outlet (hamburger restaurant). C Pizza outlet (not served by a waiter). D Other typical fastfood outlets. E Petrol station. It is these outlets we have seen as the most typical fastfood outlets and where one is most likely to eat when ‘on-the-go’. It is therefore of no relevance what they have answered on the options from F to J (Roadside restaurant, Café etc, Take Away, Grocery store and Automat). These outlets are not so likely that they offer food ‘on-the-go’. It is often common to sit down while eating the food.

Those who don’t attend are defined as follows:

They have answered the same question as above on option A to E in Q4 Once or several times a year and/or More seldom or never in everyfast food outlet from A to E.

Those who attend fastfood (A to E) should be questioned q10 “What would you say are the most important reasons to eat fast food?”, and those who do not attend fastfood should be asked question q11 “What are the main reasons that you rarely or never eat in fast food outlet?” Rarely or never is defined as ‘Once or several times a year and/or ‘More seldom or never’ in everyfast food outlet from A to E. It is of no relevance what they have answered on the options from F to J (Roadside restaurant, Café etc, Take Away, Grocery store and Automat).
